Anyone Still Using Flogs With PPC campaigns?

I'm currently trying to run some flogs on facebook , and a few other search networks , getting a fuck ton of clicks to the lp , but they arent going to the offer , any idea on how to increase ctr on the lp , im using the news reporter type lander too

thanks

When I was running news style lp's on Facebook, my CTR from page -> offer was around 10%. My ROI varied from 100% to 150% depending on my offer combo. The traffic quality isn't the best, but as long as you can get cheap clicks, it's easy to make a profit.

Why are you doing this?

You know its not allowed!

This is why FB & Adwords hate on affiliates.

I don't mean to burst your bubble or to come across too strong but they will catch you very quickly and all your efforts will be in vain.

Given the crackdown on flogs and farticles I would suggest steering clear of them - an easy way to get into trouble, get your Facebook accounts banned etc. I doubt your networks would be too happy either, everyone is under scrutiny from the FTC with the whole issue of fake/misleading articles, testimonials, excessive product claims etc.

You can use them,

but do so knowing the risk.

There were a few horror stories of big time super affiliates getting intercepted by the FTC.

There was no mercy - They froze all of their Assets. They had no access to their cash or bank accounts.

They had to go to court and pay an insane fine.

I don't think you are doing that kind of volume to your flog.

But just something to think about.

hey jspecify, where do you hear stories like this from? Do you know who these people are?

Those type of LP's are obviously risky but what type of LP's do people run now a days. Back to the old sales letter style, compare/rank style???

Instead of blatantly posing as a news network, you run a lifestyles blog. Who's to say that isn't legit?

Can anyone link to an example of this?

I meant a case study, blog post, or something somewhere that provides a description or example. Not someone's actual, currently running, or currently profitable campaign.

without outing anything, just run over to cnn or foxnews or some big media company. You'll see their ads. Basically they are minisites with working categories, tabs, adsense, working comments etc.

Very interesting, thanks for pointing me in the right direction! I think I found what I was looking for, and no outing ha ha.

On a serious note though--how are these "lifestyle flogs" more secure (legally speaking) than the straight up fake new sites? I mean, yeah, they aren't pretending to be a legitimate source of news, but there are still false claims and fake testimonials all over the place on these flogs. Really, what's the net difference?

The ones I've seen are still making unsubstantiated claims and have false testimonials, they are just pretending to be fake individual blog authors rather than a whole fake news organization. How is that more safe? It seems less blatant, but not really any more secure.
