Hello,
I've been trying to get a lesbian dating offer for the US to be profitable. It's close, but not there yet.. I've setup the following
This ad targets 118,160 users:
who live in the United States
between the ages of 34 and 37 inclusive
who are female
who are single
who are interested in women
who speak English
Not using keywords for this campaign. Seems hard to target.
I've tried a couple different sets of images.
set #1. Different lesbian celebrities
set #2. Miscellaneous pictures
set #3 Rock band woman/goth look. Someone suggested I try her
ad copies

Your ad copy is too boring.
Did you get the images of girls kissing approved? Its should do well. Also try girls with tats/weird color hair/dreads - lesbians do not look like Megan Fox in the real world!!!
Most of your images are too generic/professional looking. Check out some lesbian dating sites and you'll get a better understanding of what you are trying to do.
From my experience lesbian dating works well on women who do not set their preference to "lesbian". Most just want to check it out - although FB won't allow it. Don't be afraid to test much older demo's too.
There are targeting options too...
Deon forgot to write that *unfortunately*, lesbians do not look like Megan Fox in the real world 
But he's right. The ad copy is quite boring. I don't know what CTR you're getting now but if you do go with the angle that Deon is talking about then play up on the curiosity/experimental factor. Intrigue + provocative would work well - but you'll have to be very sly with the provocativeness otherwise you'll just get banned or at minimum, they won't approve you.
By the way - something like 'The L Word' would be a good keyword to target without setting the parameter to 'interested in women'. It's a start, see how you can build upon that.
Try non-professional looking pictures, and more amateur ones. They get higher CTR's on Facebook.
Also, try split testing different image borders. Neon colors work best most of the time.
You should use a more exciting ad copy, something a long the lines of this:
Lesbian Woman Wanted
Due to the high number of lesbian women on [Site], we lack women responding to their needs for attention. Join Now Free!
maybe try some butch looking women as they are usually attracted to them
Try women with long tongues

Anyway, if you ever did want to try keyword targeting, here are some more options:
(Yeah, L-Word (or "The Real L-Word") is a good one)...

(for the political types)
....can't think of anything else right now, laughing too hard.
What's the reason for targeting such a small age group? 34-37?
