depending on the offer women can be much more attracted to "couple" pics that they could see themselves in....test out more thanjust hot guy wi/ muscles posing for the camera...oh yea...its a little ahem...interesting. but googling for pictures of gay guys will get that "hot" asthetic.

Gay/metrosexual/feminine looking guys are worth testing. Throw in some of the Photoshop ideas from the CTR thread to make certain facial features stand out. The "hot guy with muscles" pics are all over dating ads, so throwing in an effective curveball is what you need to get good CTR's and stand out. I can also vouch for couples pics. Think of couples in certain situations that will bring out a girl's emotions. Create some fluidity with the angle of your image and ad copy and you might have something converting.

Alright here you go... To obtain the high CTR hotguy images, head over to google.com, and search for "Mr. green" under images... And you are good to go...

Don't forget to add some drop shadow and sharpen the images when you upload your ads... This can dramatically increase your CTR rate...

^^^This is what I would do in the past. But it's kind of creepy, if you know what I mean...

Also, if you search for gay chat sites, you'll find lots of those amateur-style pics that get higher CTRs than professional-looking photos...

That's why I put up with it. I've actually made fake profiles on a bunch of smaller gay dating sites and just wait for guys to send messages (if you do it right, they will) and grab images that way. The benefits of using this method are that 1) these guys tend to be put together well, as in they're fit, dress nice, etc., 2) they are men who are looking for men, so if you use their images in ads targeting women they'll probably never see them and you have less chance of dealing with getting a C&D, and 3) they're largely self-taken pictures, which go over a lot better than the pro shots (like you said).

One other way I've managed to get images to use in dating campaigns is by putting a request up on Fiverr for headshots and shoulders-up shots of people, self-shot pictures, preferably in a bathroom mirror. I can usually get 5-10 of each person for $5, sometimes they'll offer to get friends, siblings etc to take pictures too and you can get a handful of people's pictures for $5. It's really a bargain.

I should do a blog post about how great (and terrible) Fiverr can be. That site is amazing (and worthless.)
