CPVLab Question (12)

CPVLab Question

So last night I was spying on ads on PPV and my ad popped up. I was pissed with what I saw. Currently I am using Prosper202 to track, needless to say it's lacking some features I want which has forced me to find creative solutions in order for P202 to track properly.

For instance I've been using the survey style landing page with a simple yes and no question. I haven't gone the celebrity route instead trying it in different niches (hasn't been successful for me yet, but that's another story). I wanted to make these landers look a bit more legitimate looking so I wanted to send users down a path: Landing Page > Faux Loading Page > Thank You Page, Redeem Gift.

I thought that would make the landing page seem more "legitimate" since it looks like it's compiling your vote, and then offering you the prize, instead of just clicking yes or no and bam your on the offer page.

Anyways, I saw my landing page and what I saw was a Javascript error, I have tested this landing page on all browsers and down to version 7 on IE and no error popped up. I even tried it inside Traffic Vance to see if I could replicate the error and it didnt. However this one instance has made me question the code I'm using on it's consistency, since the CTR of this lander is really bad.

Sorry for the long post, but I wanted to hear it first hand from people using CPVLab (plus I'm impatient) is it possible to create the path I mentioned above? Lander > Loading Page > Thank You Page, Link to Offer? On that note is it possible to add as many other pages from the Lander to the Offer Page as I want, all while tracking the target??

Thanks.

Absolutely. You can also track Pop-up, exit pop and even email campaign links.

Hey , that error is because you are putting the P202 javascript code down the page.

If you put it immediately after the <head> tag I think it will solve the issue.

About the CPVLab question , yeah it can do that kind of path and track metrics for every step in the path.

Here is a map with the tracking that CPVLabs can do: http://myseasonal.info/images/cpvtracking.gif

Thanks for all the input guys, really appreciate it.

BBrock immediately after the <head> hrm, I never thought it would be an issue as long as it's within the head tag, the problem is it was that one instance that caused the error, I couldn't replicate it again, then again the one time it gave me an error was on a LIVE pop from GameVance, the others were just me navigating to the url and the test popup on TrafficVance.

But I think I'm going to pull the trigger since I'm able to get a lot more creative with my path without having this error on the back on my head, not to mention the ability to change offers on the fly seems like it would be a good thing .

Thanks again.

Also, just wanted to add another question. I've used P202 "advanced landing pages" and it turned out to be completely different then I was expecting it to be, the setup was easy enough. However the metrics report was weird, it only showed clicks that each offer got so in essence it basically showed 100% CTR, it didn't break down the targets. Im assuming CPVLab does this better?

Hey everyone,

This is Samantha with CPVLab. I wanted to thank all of you for your input! Yes, CPVLab can do everything that has already been stated above.

doobus, with any tracking system there will be some discrepancies (if you have a slower server, etc...), but CPVLab definitely breaks down all the targets.

I dont think its p202's javascript error. If anything you will get the same error from cpvlab if you use the same coding...

the amount of stuff that you can track with CPV Lab is insane! I love the way it breaks down easily exactly which targets are working with which landing page / offer combination - Rob is an absolute legend, I only wish he gave tutorials to other businesses about how to run support! Always prompt and extremely knowledgeable.

From the recent conversations I've had with him there seems to be a lot of great features coming soon.

I do very little CPV but I use the Lab for all my tracking now. If you haven't got it ---- GET IT!!! (and not an affiliate link in site) ;-)

so CPV Lab is working for all other traffic source like FB and POF?

Yeah , it works fine to track POF and FB as long as you use the extra tokens.

in terms of pixel firing, is the system more accurate than 202? does it offer more details then 202 for traffic sources outside of ppv?

Pixel firing is nearly the same for me.

They give you more info than p202 because you can rotate offers with different payouts, can have multiple steps landing pages and you can track all the metrics in each step.

Also they give you the engage rate , the time a users stays on your lp , which is useful a lot of times.
