06/21/11:Yesterday, I split test 2 offers, an email submit and a longer form email submit. I got one conversion. Today, I tested my lander. The CTR wasn't acceptable so I paused the campaign. It seems I have to go about this at an angle. I'll be able to work more on this on Thursday and I'll be able to update my
numbers by then as well.

Can you please tell us about your details? e.g.
How many impressions and clicks? How much you spend and earn hence your ROI is minus or plus?
Looking forward to seeing your progress dude
Here's an update of my progress so far:
06/22/11: Campaign paused.
This is the lander I used on the 21st:
http://i54.tinypic.com/2s9w0ap.png
lol this was from the start, before I targeted that demo. On the first day, I did a direct link targeting profitable urls and keywords I've used in the past. I initially thought those targets went bad. I even tested those offers on a profitable campaign with a diff demo and still same results. Criticize all you want, it's not like I'm the first to do this
I'm open to offer recommendations.
06/25/11: I added more targets. The CTR is starting to looking better. I'm making no changes to the lander. I plan to implement window re-sizing once I learn how to do so.
Stats:
P/L: -$9.38
Impressions: 879
Clicks: 51
CTR: 5.84%
Leads: 0
CR: 0%
ROI: -100%
Spend: $9.38
Offer payout: $1.90
As of today, 06/26/11, I have a total of 196 targets, most are paused. I was a bit profitable at one point today until I added new targets. Is there a way to see the total number of "active" targets? I don't want to count them manually
.
Full report of 06/26/11 tomorrow.
I think your banner is too long, too much reading.
.
I'm also not sure what your reasoning is behind targetting 10-14 year olds, don't these require to be 18, and clearly state so on the landing page? Also, this is a lot less mature audience, a lot probably don't even know what an email is, and with further info, even if you do make this work, you'll be forced to change your methods or shut down cause it doesn't back out for the advertiser.
so yeah I suggest just going for 18+
My reasoning is simple: 10-14 year-old sees pop-up, "YOU WON A FREE IPAD! JUST ENTER E-MAIL". Kid's initial reaction: "zOMG!!!! I WANTZ DAH IPADZ NOW!!!!" *fills out submit* = GET PAID! I also assume a younger demographic is much more inclined to fill out an "iPad submit" rather than adults. Am I right?
I do understand there are quality issues. Tell that to Stackman and others who targeted "Justin Bieber". What does that demographic consist of? 18+??? GTFO!!!
And I admit I targeted Bieber fans and made a profit.
I'm simply taking a different approach.
P.S. When I was 10 (2000) I already had an email. The internet has EXPLODED since then.
This is 2011 though, you need to start worrying about quality or you'll be scrubbed to no profitability.
10-14 year olds might be easier to target but unless they convert for the advertiser, the advertiser will scrub.
Actually its against the advertisers (most*) to say that they won a free ipad or anything like that, sure people say that but just make sure your cloaking it if you dont want trouble...
Also yeah your lander isnt very catchy.. use an image or something as well
06/26/11: Targets were approved and let them run. I currently have 83 active targets. I'm thinking about testing them until they hit 1000 impressions but doing so might blow my limited budget. Hmmm....what to do?
Stats:
P/L: -$5.42
Impressions: 1011
Clicks: 77
CTR: 7.48%
Leads: 3
CR: 0.29%
ROI: -48.7%
Spend: $11.12
Offer Payout: $1.90
06/27/11: My main focus is optimizing my targets. I think my lander is good. Perhaps neglecting my lander will be my downfall. Right now, I'm concerned about finding consistent targets and offers. And it seems the offer I'm promoting is starting to pickup. I also added more targets.
My budget is expected to reach $200 within the next day or so depending on how I play out my targets. I doubt that I'll be able to make this campaign profitable.

P/L: -64.78
ROI: -67.7%
Mini Update 06/28/11: The targets I added on the 27th were high traffic and blew a substantial amount of my budget. I have about $50 left out of my $200 budget.
Full report tomorrow.
You should split test age groups. Targeting only 10-14 is not going to work.
I think we can move past this 10-14 demographic. Since the time that I mentioned that, I added hundreds of scraped keywords and URLs which have a diverse set of demographics. So, you could say the demographic is now 10-18+.
I'm too much of a noob to know how to effectively target separate age groups with ppv.
Thanks for the input, I don't mean to sound like a bitch
.
I'll be outing the full campaign within the next two days.
My account is going to expire soon and I don't plan to continue here. I feel it's a wiser decision to invest the money in campaigns since I'm not making a substantial profit yet.
I've definitely learned a great deal of info here. Now, it's time to apply it.

06/29/11:
Since my membership is set to expire, I thought I'd re-activate the high traffic targets to blow the rest of my budget and see whether it'd be profitable or not; it wasn't :P.
Stats:
P/L: -$24.80
Impressions: 3796

06/30/11:
I'm finished with the contest (this is my last day on the forum
). I didn't get to spend a full $200 because my total account balance was exhausted.
Attached is a list of my targets exported from CPVLab. I compressed to a zip because the forum settings doesn't allow excel files to be uploaded.
I removed some keywords that I was using from my profitable campaigns (Can't risk competition.
)
Targets ferb, disney.go.com, tom and jerry, disneychannel.com, and spongebob games show potential.
High traffic targets I used were miniclip.com, cartoon network, cartoonnetwork.com, nick.com. For the full list check the excel sheet.
This is the edited lander I used on the 24th:
