Has Anyone Been Able To Profit With Megaclick?

Ive been trying some stuff and can't get anything to stick with megavideo. Anyone else use them?

I was doing some games signups and downloads. Got a few conversions but overall it was a loss. There wasn't much I could do to optimize except for turning off the creatives with a low CTR.

Just created a campaign today but still pending.

Anyone know how long do they take in general to approve ads?

06-20-2011 08:18 PM #5 jroes57 (Member)

Hey bbrock,

They take a while and when I did my run they cut my cpm from 1.50 to .50 cents just by talking to my rep.

Also if you guys want I can show what I did, and its still a loss spent 50 for 30 dollars revenue.

Stats after spending 200:

Wow that #3 sticks out like a sore thumb in terms of CR. It still didn't profit?

06-21-2011 02:19 AM #8 jroes57 (Member)

Ad 3 says: Beta Begings (DATE)
and the rest say: Beta Is Live

Thats the only difference and at the end of today neither are allowed to be ran.

Also after getting my CPM rate cut down ad 3 got a .08 ctr. So im lost on what to do, wondering if anyone else has better experience.

If anyone is interested in working together to conquer megaclicks, post here and we can set something up

Wait, you were paying $1.50 CPM? That's way too much. The minimum bid is different for every country but you can find out what the minimum is by bidding $0.01 and hitting save, then it will give you an error message with the true minimum. Then bid either that, or 1 cent above that to get more traffic than the bottom-feeders. In the US, the minimum is $0.50, but it drops off drastically for International, and there is still tons of traffic. For example, the minimum bid in Canada & Austria (AT not AU) are $0.15 CPM, Spain is $0.10, and so on. For gaming and download offers, try it out at MegaUpload instead of MegaVideo. It's much more tailored to that audience.

PRO TIP: If you want to get Flash banners enabled on your account, all you have to do is send them an email and ask.

06-21-2011 06:27 AM #11 jroes57 (Member)

My rep specifically told me that AU,CA,UK are all more expensive then USA and to do it on megavideo instead of megaupload. I guess I will have to take a look and yes they allow flash but not .swf ads. Also apparently you can't use flash on megavideo or something weird like that?

Yea I was paying 1.50 cpm the first round and thats the minimum for USA on megavideo

06-21-2011 01:32 PM #12 joshtodd ()

Flash = SWF

They can enable SWF upload for you if you ask.

06-21-2011 04:40 PM #13 jroes57 (Member)

I tried asking and they told me no swf allowed. I have flash enabled in my account, but cannot upload swf images on megavideo. Can you?

06-21-2011 04:49 PM #14 joshtodd ()

I can on mega upload.

06-21-2011 05:12 PM #15 jroes57 (Member)

What about on megavideo?

06-21-2011 05:18 PM #16 joshtodd ()

Nope can't do it there... I've never used MegaVideo but it looks like the ads actually appear inside the video the user is trying to watch, so that's probably why they don't allow flash. It would be a flash within a flash.

06-21-2011 05:44 PM #17 jroes57 (Member)

Exactly thats what I was trying to say. My rep there told me to target there since it would be more appealing to gamers, what made you say megaupload is more targeted? just curious and the minimum for megaupload isnt .15 cent CPM for canada.

06-21-2011 05:47 PM #18 jabab1 (Member)

Who is your Rep? I used to run alot on Mega circa '10 great traffic source and alot of volume if you get it done right. If you put a Big Deposit and talk to Finn you can get alot done.

06-21-2011 07:09 PM #19 jroes57 (Member)

Arikka Greene

Volume is no problem, its getting the traffic to convert is where the issue is, it seems to be my CPC needs to be under 5 cents to make it work.
Any tips?

06-21-2011 08:51 PM #20 dantheman (Member)

jroes57 - have you tried doing downloads? Just create some ads the makes the user want to interact with it.

06-21-2011 09:10 PM #21 jroes57 (Member)

Dont downloads have a lower EPC then browser games?
Also do you have any examples of ads that make a user interact?

They do, but people who go to megaclick are already downloading something so they don't mind download something else.
I don't have any examples, but some that I'm thinking are ones that the user has to play. Like shooting a target or so. Should be swf, and then after redirect them to a download offer.

06-21-2011 10:05 PM #23 jroes57 (Member)

Ah, those things, cant use swf on megavideo. Did you mean megaupload?

06-22-2011 03:33 AM #24 jroes57 (Member)

I think i found the problem, the default creatives convert like shit, testing out some I ust made!

*facepalm* Dude you didn't tell me earlier you were using the default creatives!

Josh,

Ive been meaning to ask why choose megaupload over megadownload?

06-22-2011 04:47 AM #27 joshtodd ()

People go to MegaUpload to download things. So they are in a wasting time sort of mood and they are looking for something new to do. It seems like a good time to hit them with a download or a gaming offer. Plus if you can get creative with your creatives (lol) you can get more clicks by putting "Download" as your call to action. Plus it's cheaper than MegaVideo, I believe. Also MegaUpload gets way more traffic.

EDIT: Another thing, when you are waiting for something to download, you are bored and want something to do. Like click on ads and play games. When you are watching a video, you don't want to be interrupted as it's an annoyance.

06-22-2011 05:36 AM #28 stackman (Administrator)

Pretty solid theory josh! I've been using that type of 'waiting/bored' theory when testing campaigns on Adserve

06-22-2011 09:08 AM #29 bbrock32 (Administrator)

Josh is right. I got the same campaign approved on both MegaVideo and MegaUpload .

MegaUpload right now has 2x the conversion rate of Megavideo and I think it's because the "bored" angle.

Only problem is MegaVideo has much more volume in my case.

06-22-2011 02:40 PM #30 jroes57 (Member)

Still awaiting approval for megaupload, what was your CPM bbrock?

06-22-2011 07:53 PM #31 bbrock32 (Administrator)

@jroes57
I am bidding $5 CPM

Has anyone noticed big discrepancies with MegaClick popunders?

I had 24% less pops registered on my tracker than in MegaClick. This is enough to break a winning campaign.

I know it's not my server's fault because the load is minimal.

Also , how did you guys get a rep there?

06-22-2011 11:50 PM #32 Ryan Eagle ()

HUGE profit =).
It's gotten somewhat saturated though after I started talking to a couple pubs about it 2~ years ago.

I just used the "Send message to owner" link on this page: http://www.megaclick.com/index.php?c...file&site_id=1

06-26-2011 09:22 AM #34 jroes57 (Member)

I was not able to make megavideo or megaupload work, the volume is there, but the ROI is similarly to non existent.
Anyone else different opinions?

Hi,

Maybe I can share 1 or 2 things after spent 12k with them.

I made most of my money with their international traffic. They have minimum CPM as low as $0.07 for certain countries, definitely worth testing. However, some country have a lot of gambling ads, making it tough to get impressions at minimum CPM especially for MegaVideo.

split test full banner vs. 300x250 vs. pop under. They perform differently, with different minimum CPM, daily caps.

What I do not like about them:

Daily Caps- You can't adjust it. Daily caps for some country is too high, 6-8/24hrs. Means hard work to split test your ads.

You are bidding blindly when creating a new campaign. You won't know at what bid you will receive impression until you deposited the $100 for each new campaign. And this happen many times when I create new international campaigns for MegaVideo, only to find that the CPM to receive impression is too high for my campaigns to be profitable. Whatever unspend money you have deposited, they will keep it.

(My bad experience, but I don't think this happen to others):
They increased my bids, WITHOUT getting my permission! After buying the international traffic (full banner) for a while, I am shocked that they increased my bids from $0.07 to $0.15 without my knowledge and let the campaigns run. I am really mad at that moment and shooted an email to Finn, asking for explanation, as well as compensation. Can you imagine someone touch your bids and think that it's totally fine doing it? They told me it's some glitch in their platform, and the minimum CPM should be $0.15, therefore they increase it. The 100% increase in cost! Compensation on my loss? they are not doing it. Yup, you have to pay the price for their mistakes/glitches.

If your rep is not responsive, send an email to Finn. Once she realize that you actually have access to the boss, she will be more responsive (at least in my case).

If you have campaigns that running at break-even or small loss, try to (1) split test your ads to get a higher CTR or (2) lower you daily caps by extending your campaign with lower budget. This is a small trick I discover to prolong my campaign lifespan, not sure if it still works: Even your minimum daily budget is $100, after the initial $100 depleted, you can EXTEND your campaign with said $30-$50 everyday, when you have lower fund in the campaign, you will see a lower daily caps. This can turn your campaign into a profitable one.

With all being said, they DO have traffic that convert, or else I won't have spent 12k with them, just that the way they handle their business, not as professional as other adnetwork/sources outside.

like 2 years ago I made a deposit that was never credited in my account and that was beginning and end of me there. Lol.

Looks like I'll have to make a new account and try again, cause I can't get any support on current one.

Megaporn was good too there are alot of hidden gems at Mega. But again I would have one person dedicated to running campaigns through Mega platform. Full dedication to make it work 1k a day easy
