How To Blank The Refers In PPV?

How easy is it to trace back if someone is using LI or Gamevance? Is that possible or not?

Also is the only "safe" way to blank the refers is to use SSL on your domain?

Neither Gamevance nor LI pass referrers as far as I know.

The only way to detect if traffic is coming from them is by checking the user agent ( LI adds Hotbar to the user agent ) or the window size.

I doubt any network is so picky as to check for user agents and windows size.

Load it in an iframe and your domain will show up as the referrer

Some networks will actually check the user agent, since they don't allow certain CPV networks. I've had this issue in the past. Some people have put out UA cloaking tools but we always had mixed results with them.

Actually I shouldn't say networks - the problem we had was when running with an offer direct to the advertiser. They loved our traffic but still complained that it was coming from an "unacceptable source" when they looked at where it came from. That was a headache.

all you need to do....its send it thru a fake redirect.....ie a lp that looks real.....but actually forwards the link and passes the referrer from the fake page.....BUT if you were to go there directly it looks like a real page.....

well like anything else my advice would be to test it......I don't believe there is an issue with TV....LI can have some issues.....I imagine its something you could prob do with htaccess in some way.....

Thats an interesting thing, i know you can block user agents with htaccess, but im wondering if there is a way to spoof or cloak them. I think it would be to fishy if it was blank.
