I recently ran a test campaign for the young guy dating older women niche.
Here are the results:

I'm having a difficult time interpreting the results. I think my problem is that I don't know which is a good number.
Questions:
1. Is the Ad CTR at 0.13% a good number or should it be higher? What's a good number to shoot for?
2. The lander CTR is only 18.30%. I think it needs to be higher, right? How much higher should it be?
3. The conversion rate is 7.32%. Is that a good number? Should I aim higher?
Based on the test result, what's my next step? Test more landers? Test more Ad copies? Or do both?
Edit: traffic source is Traffic Junky
- ad ctr% depends a lot of the traffic source you're using
- lp ctr% is too low (since you have ads I assume it's not ppv for which 18% would be good)
- conversion rate is good (on most traffic sources)
so i'd say test more ads & landers, and it can't hurt to throw in some other similar offers in the split test.
good luck !

@Mehdi thanks for the response and suggestion.
@Mehdi you mentioned the lander's ctr was too low, then what do you suggest it should be?
it's POF no ?
if so then it should be at least 40%+ .. and the bigger the better, 50-60% ctrs are doable (and exist)

You should always be testing more than one ad. If you don't you will get stuck in the position you are now of indecision.
Set your self a budget for testing this campaign lets say $200. Create 5 different ads to start with, and 2 different landers. From there you will be able to see trends of what works and what doesn't. What I mean by "different" don't just change one word or an image. Use the initial testing phase to cover as much ground as possible.
Also is the offer you are running proven? Did you ask your AM or see it being promoted already?
Your lander CTR needs to improve for sure.
@Mr Green
Thanks for your input. What I'm trying to find out is what number do you shoot for when running your initial tests? For example, looking at the above stats, the lander CTR is low at 18.3% so we need to improve it. At what point do you say, "yes, I'm satisfied with the lander CTR" -- at 30%, 40%, 50%? I understand every case is different -- depending on the traffic source, offer, ROI, etc. But as a newbie we need some principle guiding number to help us in our initial tests. Without it, we would just be shooting in the dark.
So as far as I understand, the principle guiding numbers are:
Ad CTR: at least 0.15%
Lander CTR: at least 30%
Conversion Rate: at least 5%
What do you think? Are these numbers close to what you use when you run your initial tests?
I agree with LP ctr. Would need to know more about the campaign to give you more info.
