Fan Page or not to Fan page ...? (10)

Fan Page or not to Fan page ...?

Is going internal link a better solution to going out to LP or offer?

Does such use of Fan Pages lend credibility?

Make approval easier?

Increase CTR's.

Lower CPC's.

Thank you in advance for any tips and thoughts.

The most gangster shit I have seen to date was actually an app. Ryan Deiss promoted it as a JV. Basically a hot chick pops up and tells them "Just click OK to view XYZ" and when they click OK it opts them in to an email list, and then splashes them through to a "live" webinar happening on facebook. It was really really slick for people who want to run traffic to their own funnel.

I haven't tested enough on FB to tell you one way or another about your question though. I think most of the guys on here link out...

No one knows?

Is it a 50:50 proposition?

Pros: Often cheaper clicks
Higher CTRs? Maybe.
Ability to use sponsored stories/advertise to friends of connections/exclude already connected
Can get things to go viral, utilise like-gating/share to get more entries in competitions and that sort of stuff.

Cons:A click and a like both charge you for a click > lower CPC no longer any advantage
Some people like your ad directly and never visit the page
Harder to set up page tab apps and deal with tracking, especially if you have little coding skills
More restricted with respect to what you can cram into the lander, sneaky scripting and those sorts of things.

If you aren't planning to:
a) advertise using sponsored stories and to peoples friends
b) build a fan base for some useful reason
c) use viral marketing of some kind

Then linking to a normal lander is going to be less hassle in many ways and may perform similarly. Also remember if you want to build a fan base or get lots of likes for a specific page to then use sponsored stories, if the offer goes down or dies then you may have just invested time/money in a page that's now useless.

I'm not sure about the Ryan Deiss JV app, but FB Fist does exactly what you are explaining. I've used it myself to build lists that I've since abandoned.

Overall I don't think you save much by keeping traffic on fb and managing a fan page is a whole new hassle. Personally I would rather send traffic off site and get people out of freebieland.

Sure looks like the majority of folks are using FanPages.

Maybe just the ads you are seeing. Most affiliate ads will not be to fanpages.

Sorry for bringing this topic back up since I know that you guys last spoke of this on February...BUT, I am looking to test and cheaply get some click-throughs. Is having a direct link to the affiliate's landing page effective?
