**CPVLab With Mobile - Why Not?

Is anyone using Cpvlab to track their mobile campaigns? With the newer 2.16 version release the redirects are faster and if you pass on network tokens for carrier, os, device and so forth than why would you need any of the Imbobitrax or others that charge $125 +++ for life. Maybe I am missing something, if so please let me know? I absolutely love Cpvlab and before did not want to use it since mobile has such high volume and the redirects were slow but with the new version (2.16) that is not the case anymore. As long as it is on a VPS or Dedi of course.

Anyway, can some elaborate who is actually tracking mobile campaigns with Cpvlab?

Just use Bevo if you want free mobile tracking, redirects are fast (amazon servers) and it optimizes landers/offers automatically. Interface sucks but you get used to it.

if a network doesnt pass through device, carrier, model variables then how do you expect to know how to optimize? imobitrax does it automatically and also has rules in place where you can redirect certain carriers and devices based on what they are, and send them specific offers.

yes, but most larger networks do pass certain variables. That is why I ask. Also, I am not looking for a free tracker. Since I use Cpvlab and love it I am just wondering.

most of the larger, more popular networks do, but when you are media buying, or using other ad networks, such as a few adult ones I know they dont pass any variables. cpvlab CAN work, but if you plan on making a lot of money each month with mobile better be safe and just use imobitrax or a paid one.. just my 2 cents. sure its 130 a month but in all honesty you should make at least a few thousand per month in mobile if you are serious so it wont really matter that much in the end...

Its not the monthly free that bothers me. Its comes down to control ,I want to be able to control my tracker 100%. What happens if we decide to change to another tracker or stop using imobitrax? Plus the fact the tracker is build and operated by affiliates and who knows what they see in the backend. Way too many variables why Imobitrax, in my opinion, would not be the best solution compared to something like Cpvlab, where you purchase the tracker host and control it 100% and pay monthly maintenance if you choose to.

i am doing mobile very successfully on adult & conventional networks using the network own built in trackers. Not the best way to do things but it works. As stated before most of these networks are able to pass variables to CVPlab which I will be testing. Haven't try it yet, that is why I ask. Just wanted to see if anyone is using mobile with Cpvlab 100% successfully.

BTW Adult Networks such as Exoclick & TJ don't have the ability to specify which precise device you can get traffic from. You can breakdown and chose based on OS and Carriers generally Iphone, Android and so forth but not specific devices so it doesn't matter whether you are using IMobitrax or anything else.

Dude imobitrax is self hosted... you get the files hosted on your site. its the same as cpvlab.

not to mention just look at all the targeting options i got in my tracker.. it does it all automatically along with the extra ones i can put in..

the thing is you might miss some good ROI that you would normally miss with not tracking every possible thing..

Just use the STM mobile tracker.

Has all the features of Imobitrax + it's free and open source.

Also new improved version is coming next month too

I use CPVLab for all my mobile tracking. In terms of fast redirects, make sure you set your CPVLab campaign to Direct Redirect and that you clean out your database often (once it reaches 1 million records, I clear it). I just pass the parameters from the ad networks I work with for handsets, carrier, etc. as needed.

vidivo - I understand its on your host but your tied into Imgrind for life paying whatever they wanna charge. What happens if something else comes out or if you want to change?

bbrock32- Just my 2 cents. If you present a more detailed setup or tutorial in layman terms for the non programmer types, your STM Tracker will definitely have a larger following. I can tell you from talking to many affiliates on STM that the only reason they are using IMOBITRAX is that they had a tough time installing and making STM Tracker to work.

I myself have installed it and just sent you a IM regarding mobile stats in Group View.
