I'm fairly late with joining in but I really wanted to even though I'm awfully busy both offline and online. Because of this, I'll be roughing it after dark mostly. To make things easier on myself I'm going to try to amuse myself along the way.
My obvious goal is to become profitable, try out some new stuff and start more interaction with the forum members. If I win an Apple product, I'll probably just display it as a trophy some where since I'm a raging Linux enthusiast for ages. This also means that I won't be using any fancy software. My tools will be Gedit, GIMP and Gifsicle.
Offers
Wild Buddies US (UK and AU are on stand-by)
BeNaughty US (AU)

Network
Yeahmobi
For tracking, I'll be using Yeamobi's tracker called Yeahtool which was just recently released in it's current form and I'm curious to know how it works.

Traffic source
I'm not completely sure about the traffic sources that I will use. I have made a selection to choose from though:

There has been a small change of plans in the mean while.
I've decided to add another offer which is Xdating that comes with a $2.00 payout.

This is the offer that I will start out with and I've already been sending some traffic to get some data.
Traffic source: Star Advertising
Displaying 305x99 banners on Pornhub.
I altered my original LP for this offer and started sending traffic to it yesterday. I found that the CTR from my LP to offer was very low so I changed it a bit and did another small test. I will post the results further down the thread.
The LP that I'm using now is this one:

Preview the animations with Chrome, Android v4+, iOS, etc here: WEBKIT BROWSERS ONLY
The pics and headline go with a specific banner.
Speaking of banners.. along with the ones I already posted, I'm also running these:

not being a bummer bro but WildBuddies especially in the US is SUPER tough on quality. I spent 3 days driving leads at a loss to be booted. And i dont use FREE words..
@Joejoechen
Even though you are right, and they're quality crazy. It's still a great offer, with lots of affiliates who run it.
It's more of something to watch for when setting up your campaign, rather than a deterrent from setting up your campaign. User banners, imagery and copy that will bring in quality vs bringing in non-paying users.
wild buddies (UK) is a killer... If you want I can post stats here...
... Quality depends on how you promote and to whom you promote
Props for making your own banners and lander.
@you guys
thanks for the heads up re quality. Will see what i can pull off.
@Dinesh
go ahead
@Doryphoros
thanks. The gifs already existed.. i just edited them. Though, with the same effort you can compile hem from scratch.
I m on a 3hr train ride atm... all but a comfortable workspot!
I like the landing page, and the offer.
I think you might end up wanting to play around with the text placement / GIF size / quantity of sausage on the banner. But let's see how it goes. Good luck!
Wildbuddies is a really good offer at the moment and can be very profitable.
Just make sure you try to target the older demographics to keep quality up and get bumps.
You will be competing with guys that run on custom payouts due to good quality.
Let us know when you have some numbers
Before you read any further, make sure you've read my second post up there.
UPDATE 1
OK.. So I've started to send some traffic to collect data and this is the result of the first run.
Traffic from Pornhub through Star Advertising using 5 banners.

I used my original LP layout for this run and the CTR of this landing page was 17.15%
However, conversion rate for this LP was 3.95%
From a total of 1475 clicks, I got 253 clicks to the offer which resulted in 10 conversions.
Besides that I learned that there is much to improve, I also got some other interesting data:
The banners with the infinite cum river have the highest CTR.
iOS tends to perform better than Android.

I also tested the pics on my LP. Every time the page loads, 2 pics are presented depending on the banner they entered through. I made the pics clickable and made sure the visitors knew they could tap them.
Conclusion: Ass mirror shots FTW

It counted for 40% of the interaction with pics on the LP leaving the rest far behind.
I only had 10 conversions but 7 of them came from LP with the ass mirror shots.
Spend: $101.47
Revenue: $20.00
Loss: $81.47
ROI: -80.29%
UPDATE 2
After the first run, I changed the LP to the one with more text and ran my campaign again.
This time it ran for 5 hours in early morning GMT.
The new landing page CTR is 13.2% and had a CVR of 7.03%
Banner clicks: 971
LP clicks: 128
Conversions: 9
Well..at least it's an improvement

So, out of 9 conversions.. 8 were iOS devices and 5 of these were made through iPods.
Spend: $50.00
Revenue: $18.00
Loss: $32.00
ROI: -60%
For my next run, I target iOS only and see what that does.
It doesn't look good at all at the moment but it's still running and in the afternoon GMT which means it's morning across the pond.
Hi, one more update and probably the last one. I won't stop my adult dating effort but expected more from this follow along.
What I was afraid of when I entered the contest has happened. I wasn't able to spend enough time on it. I might have been able to pull it off if everything went smooth from the start but there were some hurdles along the way. Approval of LPs and creatives by the advertiser in the very beginning but most annoying is Star Advertising having Paypal problems for a week now.
Since I started out with this source, I would like to continue using it so after a phone call with my rep I decided to fund 500 euro through a wire transfer. This took 4 days to clear. Actually, I expect to run out of funds again by tomorrow and didn't expect there would still be Paypal problems.
I had a hard time converting my traffic but a good time creating banners and landing pages and testing them. Which gave me quite some lols and interesting results to say the least.
My spending so far is only $1200 and revenue is $600.
As you can see, this is far from profitable which was one of my initial goals.
Looking back and after reading the follow alongs of fellow contestants, I think I started off wrong and should have followed the path of spy, rip, copy and optimize to stand a chance at making profit. Also, it seems my choice to only target the most up to date devices narrowed my chances.
Just to give an impression of how bad my landing pages and angles are... I'm running break-even with direct linking.

Direct linking already shows 70 conversions for today.
However, these were my own choices. The thing that bothered me the most is 40-50% discrepancy i'm suffering at Star Advertising. I don't know what to think of it and how to deal with it.
Not all that came from this follow along has a sad note to it though. I guess I'll become profitable as soon as I come up with a good angle and/or landing page and utilizing a different traffic source maybe. I could also still rip some landers and see how that goes.
Along the way, I figured I could give this campaign a twist and port it to target my home country The Netherlands. Traffic is limited since this is a very small country but at least I'm familiar with the Dutch way of thinking and the language. I selected a local offer from a local affiliate network which is mobile optimized. It's running at a profit during testing right now and things look promising which you can see from the screenshot below.

The most interesting thing that came from this follow along is a mobile tracker. I just couldn't resist developing a custom tracker. Me and my friend are working on it at the moment and in it's crude form already does it's job for my campaigns. What I like about it is that it doesn't send my traffic through a tracking server before it ends up at the advertiser's landing page. A very interesting project!
So that's it..
good luck to the rest who did create an actual interesting follow along! I'm amazed with the details and effort put in some of the posts.
