Email verification - my new venture + freebie for STM members (8)

Email verification - my new venture + freebie for STM members

the path I chose, for better or worse, is different from most STMers. My experience is in email marketing and I am still sticking with it for now. I am building an online magazine with a large number of readers through newsletters and things have been going well.

In the process of building circulation, setting up mail servers etc, I started doing email verification in order to eliminate bounces and avoid spam traps and complaints. Anyone who's done email marketing knows you can get banned very quickly if you use purchased or dirty email lists. Even with your own clean lists, keeping a good reputation is a full-time job.

Long story short, I set up a dedicated proxy server with 500 private US-based IPs in such a way that I can verify email accounts before emailing them, and doing so without getting my IPs blacklisted.

I intend on launching a separate business doing this for email marketers. This helps them maintain the reputation of their mailing servers and IPs, and prevents them from getting banned in case they do email prospecting.

Does anyone here do any kind of email marketing? I'll verify your list (up to 1000 emails) for free. I simply want to do this for a small number of people to get some feedback. First come first serve. Basically I will process your list and tell you which of the emails are:

- Good: The email accounts exist, you can send emails to them.
- Bad: The email accounts do not exist. If you try sending to them, the email will bounce back, and the receiving server could alert spam monitoring services. Too many strikes like this can have you blacklisted by that server and/or listed in worldwide black lists.
- Unknown: The receiving mail server isn't cooperating, so we can't tell. Proceed with caution.
- Timeout: The receiving server is up but it isn't responding. It could be overloaded, or it just doesn't want to respond. Proceed with caution.
- Greylisted: The server acknowledges the request, but doesn't want to accept it just yet. It usually asks you to try again before it makes up its mind. You can generally send to these.

Having your list broken up into categories will:

- Save you money by excluding bad addresses, or addresses that are uncertain. If you have a tight budget, you can get the best ROI by focusing on good emails only.
- Save your online reputation. Too many bad strikes and all servers stop accepting mail from you. Then you get banned by your ESP.

The email game is very tricky, but I've found that this help tremendously, especially if you have 100k or 1M+ emails.

Important Note
No emails are ever sent to the lists. Verification doesn't require sending emails to the accounts. Also, I have no interest in your lists. I will delete them after processing. My own list has over 4M US emails, so your list is of no interest to me. It will be kept confidential and deleted after I send it back to you.

If anyone is interested let me know.

EDIT #1, 2/26/2013: Service revealed for the first time, www.mxverify.com

Good guess, but no, I don't own BriteVerify. My service will be competing with them and ListWise and all the others. BriteVerify seems like a decent company but their prices are rape. I will reveal the service and website and all details in the next few days. Right now I'm just offering a freebie for STM members just to get some feedback on the list cleaning itself.
