Anyone think it is pointless to target US since it's too competitive/bid prices or is it still viable? I'm only slightly profitable/break even right now in US, thinking of branching out to other countries soon.
instead of asking, why not branch out and see your results? you might have better luck.
I already am, but I'm not really asking if it's more profitable necessarily, just interested what the general consensus is.
US works.
Depends on the vertical you're targeting.
There's less margin for mediocrity if you're advertising to the States.
Do you have a great offer?
Do you have a great angle?
Do you have a great creative?
You need all of the above to crack the US, whereas other countries can still be tapped for profit by connecting the dots.
I'm not saying it's a waste of time. The US will never be an irrelevant market. It's just by no means the easiest.
Finch's answer is pretty much the TRUTH will all US traffic.
YOU WILL reap the rewards if you crack it though. If you can find the right combo there's some big big volume.
The US can be tough but recently it's been the most profitable of the 7 countries I'm running in. Finding the right offer can be key.

US is no doubt worth targeting, it's where I mainly focus with my campaigns.
I focus about 60% in usa as there are much more lead and higher paying deals then international with exception to casinos and investment deals.
