Landing Page Help!

I've been studying Affiliate Marketing for a few months now, I ran one campaign (Christian Mingle) on POF for a day just to get a feel for process, setup, and how everything is when its running. I had two campaigns; 1: 30-34 yrs old, 2: 35-39 yrs old; Males in the US and some other targeting.

30-34 Group
16,253 Impressions
7 Clicks
0.043% CTR

35-39 Group
3,969 Impressions (Late to get approved)
4 Clicks
0.101% CTR

Obviously not enough data, but I can't help but wonder if not having a landing page contributed to clicks but no conversions.

How do I make a Landing page?!

It sounds almost stupid to ask but I can't find a tutorial on here. I don't know HTML but am going to start finding tutorials online. Are there templates to work from readily available? What programs can I use to edit them? (Working from a Macbook Pro or PC).

I have heard most of POF is direct link but maybe it would be worth a shot to copy a campaign and run one with and one without a landing page.

Can someone better direct me?

Thanks!

There are others out there, I find this one to be the quickest/easiest for landing pages

Also, that sample size is veeeeeeeeeeeerrrrry small, but your thinking is right, it's always a good idea to split test direct linking and landing pages.

Haha yeah I know its not even comparable data so to speak. Problem is I am in college and work 2 jobs while trying to learn all of this material for Affiliate Marketing and try to run campaigns, so as you can imagine my budget is rather small. Not that what I posted as data will be my budget for testing days but there isn't much beyond that for testing.
