Facebook won't even accept credit card

I tried to start running a charity ad for a slightly aged account I have and when I tried to input the credit card info, FB wouldn't accept it. I kept getting an error message saying "we cannot accept your order at this time." It was a new valid credit card.

Has anyone else encountered this problem?

What was the reason provided after "we cannot accept your order at this time." ?

Actually just looked again. The message is "Sorry, we were unable to process your order at this time." It pops up in a red box above the credit card form when I hit submit. There is no explanation given.

I experience this reason many times, usually it has been used on FB but in your case maybe your card has been black listed by FB? try other card with same BIN

If you experience authorization declined, it mean the bank cc provider decline transaction from FB, you can talk to bank cc offier to allow the FB transaction

Well it is a brand new Amex card and Amex is not declining the transaction. There isn't even a transaction to decline at this point because there is no charge yet.

Besides it potentially being a FB error that will be fixed soon, have you ever used an AMEX card before? Does it have a 4-digit CSC and have you successfully added a 4-digit CSC card before?

Yes I have used an Amex before and it does have a 4-digit CSC. I am wondering if this possibly means they have already flagged my account before I even added the card. Or it could be that since it is an "employee card" they are linking it back to one of my other cards and blacklisting it.

@chase, did you use the same accoutn successfully with the new card or did you create a new account? Not sure if this account is ruined at this point or not.

@ doppelganger, any idea what caused it? did you try again since then?

I tried again today and got the same message. I think they black listed the card #. I'm not gonna try any of my new CC#s on this account, I'll save them for fresh accounts.

*Edit - I just tried one of my old cards and it went through fine. They definitely didn't like the card # I was originally trying to use. I'll let you guys know if it gets approved and starts running.

*Edit - The account has been locked and they are asking for ID.

I created a new ads account over the weekend which was locked immediately upon submitting the first ad. Been going back and forth with them, but finally got it unlocked yesterday and the funding source (card) was missing. Tried adding the card and got "Sorry, we were unable to process your order at this time." E-mailed again and they sent the same message that "Upon review, blah blah blah..." Now today I'm able to add the card no problem.

So from what I can gather, I'm guessing your card is blacklisted for some reason.

So do employee cards not work anymore? Basically all the employee cards I get have the first 10 numbers in common so maybe they can blacklist them that way. How are you getting so many fresh cards that don't share a common set of numbers?

^^^ I'd like to know that too.

Anyone still successfully using employee cards that all share a common set of numbers?

Amex doesn't work for me anymore. Not sure why but 100% sure after the first account you create, it no longer works.
