STM + F5's 2013 Amsterdam Meetup in MAY!

STM staat op het punt de grootste Euro Affiliate Marketing gooien meetup-to-date! (dutch google translation)

(translation) STM is about to throw the biggest Euro Affiliate Marketing meetup to date!

After some talks with the crew, we rushed to narrow down the date and location so we could share this years Euro meet details nice and early!

The Details:
This will take place in the centre of Amsterdam (location in the works). We have a couple little speeches planned (something we have never ever done before). They'll be a mix of some of the biggest affiliate marketers from all corners of the world and we're in the works of bringing reps from some top traffic sources. Once the night strikes upon us we'll hit the town and bask in the Amsterdam nightlife.

All other info like exact bar location, time, and more will be revealed soon.

In too, if somebody likes to group up for a stay in a hotel, let me know in this thread Last time I had to leave right the same day, but there's nothing like a drunken convo early in the morning at a hotel bar before going sleeping! Would be cool if we manage to find some sorta STM Hotel for this time

02-05-2013 04:37 PM #6 caurmen (Administrator)

I should be able to make that - looking forward to it.

Can anyone drop me best airlines/sites for Asia to Europe flights?

02-05-2013 05:01 PM #11 andyscraven (Member)

Having never been before can I ask a daft question or 5?

1. Is this a one day get together on the 3rd?
2. Is it just an evening doo hitting the bars?

OK so just two questions!!!

02-05-2013 05:04 PM #12 stackman (Administrator)

For sure, it'll be a meetup starting sometime in the late afternoon on the 3rd, which will then work its way into the late evening filled with speakers, networking and some fine dutch beers.

As aussie's say, lets get Maggoted.

Can anyone drop me best airlines/sites for Asia to Europe flights?
Edreams man, that site is f*cked up. I was just browsing my trip and after a quick talk with a travel agent they wanted to charge me $3200 return flights from melb to amsterdam, I used Edreams and I can fly to 4 other countries while in europe and return back to Melbourne for $2300

I think Mehdi the sexy boy showed me this nugget

02-06-2013 02:43 AM #26 stackman (Administrator)

DONE. Working out my flights now, i didn't know edreams works for CA & US too.

Highly highly recommend Momondo - http://www.momondo.com/
Great interface, some pimpin search features. Pretty much like all the others but I find it way nicer to use.

Being that I travel the world full time, I picked up some resources for getting the cheapest flights and accommodations. I've been using ITA matrix for the longest time, and I know a lot of the bigger travel search engines were using them at one point (Orbitz, Expedia etc). They were bought out by google a little while back, and for good reason -- they show every single possible route from pretty much every single registered airline in the world. They'll even connect you with those rotary planes as a possible option if you're into that.

For example, Melbourne to Amsterdam on edreams March 1-3 round trip on edreams pulls up:

Now I don't know about you, but I'm not really down with 35 hour flights just to save a smidgin of a stack, and edreams does have options to filter down, but how I go about buying a ticket if I'm not using miles if you have a bit of wiggle room is to swing over to ITA Matrix at:

http://matrix.itasoftware.com

And I put in the month-long search, starting with March 1st.

What you get now is infinitely more useful. The main thing with ITA matrix is that it is an information-only source. You can't book tickets through it, but you can now goto whatever favorite site or travel agent etc and demand the exact route.

As you can see here, the cheapest flight price for the entire month of March for every airline combination in the world is listed from Melbourne to Australia. So if you didn't have to go March 1st, you'd know instantly that all the dates in orange are cheapest.

If you pick the same day as we searched for before, you get a huge combo of flight options.

It has total flight time & duration, warning logos for red-eye's, overnight flights, short connection time (danger of missing connection), etc. That flight we saw before on edates is on here, and if you click on it, you'll get a breakdown of every single fee and tax you will get hit with. Some of which I'd be willing to bet edreams failed to mention unless they have some special license to let their clients ignore some of these fees, but my main thing is I like non-for-profit informational sources. Edreams, expedia, etc all will try shady shit to try to get u to research then book with them. This is just an informational source. I mean hell there aren't even Google's own ads on there (yet)!

Oh and the best thing is when you're on the go, ITA matrix's apps for iOS and Android rock. Awesome intuitive interface, and it's free. It's called OnTheFly.

I personally use points I earn on adspend to fly these days, as they have the best redemptive value, but when I don't have that option, I always use this route.

Oh -- and I'll definitely detour over from wherever I am in Europe at that time to be there. Was awesome to meet you guys again at ASW, will be awesome in Amsterdam I'm sure!

Why are you guys making me fly to Europe every month? =.=

It's been great guys. I'm baffled by how many opportunities you can find just by talking face to face with people in the industry. I now have no doubt that 2013 is going to be huuuuuge!
