hi Guys, I am very new to IM and did not know much about CPA/PPV etc before joining this forum. Started a few CPA campaigns on LeadImpact in the first few weeks without any conversions. However, a couple of days before just one campaign has resulted in conversions, although not profitable but breaking even.
It appears to me that this campaign can be profitable with a few tweaks and weading out non converting keywords. Now problem is that I am not using any tracking tool. I still need to buy cpvLAB which I am going to do today and get it installed through beyond hosting.
I need guidance on how do I go about optimising the campaign. Is there any guide or eBook that can be helpful. My campaign is not directly linking to the offer page but I am using a landing page. I track the landing page impressions using statcounter which are recorded as clicks. I check my conversions on PeerFly. Now which keywords are bringing in the conversions is unknown to me. Does CPVLab allow to track the converting keywords?
Any help and guidance would be much appreciated.
You should be using a tracking tool (e.g. CPVlab, prosper202) to track number of clicks from LI, visitors to lander, how many click through, number of conversions, etc. Looking at the profitability of keywords is something you generally do by dynamically inserting 'tokens' into your URL used at LI or any traffic source for that matter. I am not familiar with LI's tokens but they should be straightforward to find.
Now, I would recommend going to the PPV subforum, sorting the threads by #views and then get some reading/watching done. There is a lot of info there on both campaign styles, landers, tricks, tracking, angles, bidding and everything inbetween.
Many thanks zeno.
Yes, CPVlab should allow you to track which keywords are converting - that's a big part of what it does. I believe they have some pretty decent documentation and a friendly support team, so if you decide to buy it, that should help a lot.
Regardless, whether you end up with CPVLab or using Prosper 202 (a free alternative), post here if you have any problems and we'll make sure you get everything sorted out!
OK, Now I have got the CPV Lab sorted on Beyond hosting which is pretty easy to use and videos are helpful too. The campaign which was breaking even when ran on Leadimpact directly with a landing page, ran the same campaign through CPVLab with same budget and same landing page and surprisingly there were no conversions at all. Any ideas what could have gone wrong?
How many clicks did you test that over? My first thought would be "random variance, run it for a bit longer".
Also, have you checked your landing page and offer yourself to make sure that you can click through OK? It's easy to make a mistake there and end up sitting around wondering what went wrong - I should know, I've done it a few times!
