Aff links handling.

Do you guys use one of the tools which often use js or do you simple make a page with the aff link in the html or even php?

When you say cloaking do you mean just so the user sees a nice URL as opposed to cloaking to stop being disapproved on FB etc?

Yes not real cloaking , just a nice link and one even google would like.

I use pages with meta refresh.

Just trying to see if there is any fresh thoughts on aff links on our long term white hat stuff.

Thank you.

You can use a redirect script of plugin that usually does a 301 ReDirect, so you can have a good URL, EG: http://mydomain.com/dating

I do not know however if Google wouldn't see past that!

Double Meta Refresh is the safest way to blank the referrer. This is done more to hide your source of traffic from affiliate companies and publishers. Of course, it's not fool proof and some info will leak.

If you use two domains and place an SSL on the first site in your redirect it will secure things even further.

So if you really want to be secure - you can use two domains w/ a double meta refresh (SSL on the first) and check to make sure the referrer was blanked (on the second). If it wasn't, you don't redirect to your offer.

When it comes to search engines, they do seem to like pretty links better than straight affiliate links.

If you are using CPVLab you can do this easy!

In the CPVLab Guide it says, "The Redirect Loop option...will check to make sure the referrer is blanked. If it is the redirect goes straight through. If it’s not however, this feature will loop through the meta refresh until the referrer is blanked and then send it through as usual. Keep in mind, this feature will add some additional time to the redirects...which is why this is completely optional and I only recommend using this feature when security of the referrers is a significant issue."

Up 'til now, I've always employed Double Meta Refresh, but was unsure of the effectiveness versus the Redirect Loop option. However, I don't want to lose visitors due to the additional time it takes to redirect with the Loop. Has anyone tested both options extensively or would like to chime in on pros/cons of either?

If you dont have a cpvlab you can make a custom script that practically does the redirect loop. You can easily integrate this with prosper or even direct linked... this will make it 100 percent fool proof.
