Virtual Box + VPN?

Hey all Stackers,

So I am facing a slight problem now - I have installed VirtualBox on my machine and installed LI and TV software (s) on different OSs for spying purposes.

Also, I wanted to know how to get VPN on my Virtualbox OS now? I mean, am I supposed to purchase it through the Virtual Machine itself?

Basically, I have shortlised HideMyAss/Overplay as the VPN service I want to use but I am unsure of how to install it on the Virtual Machine. Do I have to make the purchase through my Host PC? And if I do, how do I install it on the Virtual Machine? Also, I had to completely remove Norton from my PC before installing the LI software on my Virtual Machine - though the Norton was on my host PC, it was still interfering with the VM.

Please help.

the vpn service providers will give you a client application. just download&install it. You will install it on the virtual machine (guest os). Disable antivirus if it is interfering. Send norton to trash. Get something lightweight. Something like kaspersky or so.

Hey theking,

Now I have installed Norton back on my Host PC - doesn't seem to be interfering anyway. I think it's only prior to installation that its a problem - now the installation of the LI software on my Virtual Machine is complete, so hoping it won't cause a further problem.

I tried using free proxy sites, but pop ups didn't seem to show up. Is it possible? This is the reason I shortlisted a VPN but still want to double check this.

Also, if I download the client application of the VPN service on my host PC, how do I transfer the client application installation file from the host PC to the Virtual Box PC?

u can share a folder on your host OS. if dont know how to, just install teamviewer to your guest os and connect to it from your host. I dont know about what you mean about pop ups. If you mean to spy on ppv networks, the free proxy servers it may or may not be reason. If your using hma, they have loads of ips,try switching to another one and test again.

You don't need to pay for a VPN... Google Windows XP Mode if you have an original copy of windows 7, Setup the software on your computer and it should give you a windows xp installations, Setup the toolbar, Edit the date on your computer, Setup Hide My Ass to spy on any country, automate the process with i macros and keep the software running on the background then collect pops.

Good Luck

For VM's - in order to be able to set up a shared folder on your host:

-Virtual Box : one needs to instal Guest Additions
-VMWare : one must install VMWare Tools.

They are the drivers that the guest ( the VM OS you created ) needs to be able to use shared folders, graphics, etc. So they get installed into the Guest.
