FACEBOOK Click Cost Tracking (9)

FACEBOOK Click Cost Tracking

I would like to get more specific data on click costs rather than just the days CPC average. Ideally I would like to see individual real time click costs. Any thoughts? Any systems out there that pull this data?

Only possible with API access. Lots of good platforms out there, but will all cost you. The data is close to real time, i.e. can get aggregated hourly stats but generally not price per each individual click.

I use BuyBuddy and I stand behind it being the best platform out there. Unfortunately they have recently changed there payment terms such that there is now a 3% ad spend fee (used to be 5% + no minimum) with $500 monthly minimum fee (12 month commitment too). If you're spending reasonable amounts and doing so consistently I would get onto some platform that saves you time and gives you greater capabilities, since it will pay for itself. Be warned, though, you will be in a contract for 12 months. However, that's a minimum 6k. If you make that in a week then you've already paid for the year if you stopped all FB marketing then and there.

To note some bullet points of why I like BuyBuddy:

- Better tracking of every single metric, can see everything at hourly intervals
- I do all my tracking via S2S postbacks
- Dayparting, scheduling, rule based optimisations, trend analysis, etc
- I deploy campaigns in minutes, very easy to make a shit tonne of camps split by image/demo etc without much hassle.
- Good support. I email them all the time and they are quick to address bugs I report, and have also made quite a few additions to the platform based on suggestions I've put forth
- They are an API partner. You do all your shit without even going near FB. If you're running multiple accounts then running them through an API partner is probably helpful, though not sure if the platform owners get notices from FB about their clients accounts getting banned.
- Keyword stats and interest clusters.
- I believe they have a 2 week free trial.

Oh so it substitutes to the facebook interface for both campaign creation and checking stats ?

I definitely need to give this a try!

Oh god yes, the only time I ever go to FB directly now is to check in real time that all ads have been approved by constantly refreshing the all adverts page. And I only do that when in a big rush. FB ad manager vs BuyBuddy is like a kindergarten vs a university campus.

Also, when using BuyBuddy for instance, you will want to get rid of all other tracking tools. Nothing through prosper or CPVlab, is just a waste of time. You can track through multiple levels (i.e. up to 9 different conversion points) so can tweak things to track lander CTRs and corresponding EPCs and so on. Can be a bit fiddly as would involve custom columns amongst some other weaknesses which I won't get into. Soon though I am going to suggest a funnel/lander tracking option to them and see what they say, I have some ideas for how they could easily work it into their system with little overhead.

Zeno, with the fee do you mean it's the greater of 3% of ad spend or $500/month?

Also, you have tried out any of the other API partners and ended up going with Buy Buddy?

Thanks!

PS, the POFpro platform we have going works the same way. No POF interface anymore

It's whichever is greater - so you pay 3% total, but are required to pay a minimum of $500. In other words, you pay a flat $500 until your ad spend for the month goes over $16,667, at which point you start paying @ 3%.

When I first looked around I briefly looked at SocialAdsTool, AdSage, some other ones and SocialAdManager (which became BuyBuddy). At the time SAM/BuyBuddy was the only one with attractive payment terms. I have looked at the 'tours' and such of all the other tools and just don't like them in comparison (not trials though). That's mainly based off my impression from the screenshots/videos vs what I expect to be able to do with the platform. You should be able to get trials of most API partner platforms so would highly recommend trying a few to see how you feel.
