How important is collecting emails(opt in landing pages) to your profit?

Hey guys,

So got a question, how much of your profit (what %) do you guys think you make from your email campaigns thats are an opt in page before the offer?

Is this worth the time to do?

Can this be a very profitable "rainy day fund" so even if your in between a large profitable scaleable campaign you can still use these lists to make bank?

I am just at the beginning of my journey but I stopped all of my campaigns after one month for the following reason.

Let's just say I got 1000 click thru's and I sent them directly to the offer and then I got a 5% CR, that means I have just sent 95% of my traffic to the wrong offer for them.

I DO know that 1000 people liked my Ad and I DO know 95% of people didn't want the offer but now I have completely lost them.

What is the point of that?

So I set about building a Sales Funnel Template that I could rinse and repeat, which I have now done! Complete with Exit Pops, Initial Lander Optin, Buyer Optin, Up Sells, Down Sells, etc etc etc. Not just CPA offers either!

So I end up with 2 lists.

One that loved my Ad but did not convert on any of the offers I had available so I can now email them with different offers and a second BUYER list of people that I KNOW are prepared to put their hand in their pocket and buy from me!

A much longer term view!

For this, check Finch's premium post about the Empire Strategy.
I has some very solid content about that (but not only)

I don't remember on top of my head the exact percentage, but once I started building lists and saw the benefits of it I realized how much money I left on the table by doing straight jump pages only. I always try to setup my campaigns now so that I can collect emails.

And it is exactly as you say a very profitable 'rainy day fund' for when you lose a big campaign. Its also a great earning stabilizer. While your main offer(s) jumps up and down earnings wise you have a steady flow of earnings coming off your list(s).

What would you guys say what % of your earnings are from your list?

What sort of conversion rate from your lists do people normally see? Let's say I build a million email list targeted for diet, can I expect a 1% list conversion rate on offers or is that too high?

Aweber is overpriced and overhyped. Go with ReachMail, they're more lenient on what you can mail and cheaper.

ReachMail seems interesting as well, but if I read this tab well, their pricing system sucks
http://www.reachmail.net/pages/pricing/115.php

To me Aweber is very expensive since you're charged for the emails in the database, even when you don't shoot them.

I'll definitely have a closer look at ReachMail, thank you buddy.
If their opt-in message can be in other languages than english, it's all good!
And if they're ok with single opt-in, it's very great.

I was hesitating to give a try with GetResponse but ReachMail seems a nice alternative.

I'm still hesitating, but it's good to have advices.

Thanks

What's ReachMail's deliverability like? In other words, how many of the emails they send out escape the spam filter?

That's something I've been burned by when choosing a mailing list provider before. For all the bad things you can say about AWeber, they do at least manage to get their mails into peoples' inboxes reliably.

ReachMail sounds interesting, but I'd definitely want to look into that aspect of their business before choosing them.

@julien the pricing works great for me because I have huge lists that I don't mail very often! I collect emails on my own setup then import them into ReachMail for mailing.

@caurmen Inbox rate is similar to Aweber on my setup. I'd say Aweber has a slight edge but nothing I've had to worry about, so don't let that stop you from trying them out. They do the first 15k mails free so it's worth giving a shot. If you do have problems with the inbox rate they should be able to sort you out, it's more often that certain keywords in the mailings are triggering the spam filter rather than the mail servers fault.

Hey snipe, are they cool with importing emails? Don't you need to send a confirmation email again like Aweber does?

Thanks for your answer man.

No need for another confirmation buddy, the main reason I went with RM!

Does anyone have anything negative to say about GetResponse? If so what? Aweber was too expensive for me and I decided to go with GetResponse instead. I will look into ReachMail as well but whats bad about GetResponse the inbox rate?

Doesn't aweber emails make it less likely to hit the recepient's spam box?
