For those who have used both P202 & CPV Lab. (6)

For those who have used both P202 & CPV Lab.

As I am somewhat to the online marketing wold, as some of you will know, budget is somewhat limited at the beginning. But as most of you know, sometimes paying for something that can save you time and effort can really pay for itself relatively quickly.

So my question here is, is it worth it fork out $297 for CPV Lab?

What can it do that free prosper202 cannot?

And if there are different benefits to using each platform? eg. Running different types of offers where one platform is more suited for the job than the other?

The reason I am asking is because I am currently running Dating offers through POF, where split testing offers and landing pages can be quite a headache, with all the scripts n stuff you have to implement to have it track correctly.

From my understanding of what CPV lab has to offer, is that you can do all this internally, instead of externally with scripts like with prosper202.

Another thing is that I've noticed some of the guys at STM who appear to be running volume are using Prosper202. For Example, Kokofai with his P202 Blowing up ever 2-3days. Am I missing something?

Thanks in advance for any input guys!

it's just what you are used to. That's it. If you ask me though cpvlab is much user-friendly

Finch wrote a lengthy review of CPVLab a little while ago, which mentions most of the key differences.

Honestly, Prosper 202 is fine - whilst you're still cash-strapped there are a lot of better places to spend your money, on data, learning or decent hosting, unless you're really hating Prosper. And particularly if you're using POF, you might be better off waiting until POFpro is out of beta - it's a tracking solution specifically designed for the POF platform and so far looks very good.

Prosper DOES slow down once you're running serious volume, but unless you're pushing thousands of clicks a day, it's not going to be a problem for you. At that point, money should be less of an issue, and you can even consider custom tracking and so forth.

What are the aspects of Prosper that are giving you problems right now? I've been considering writing some scripts or tutorials for Prosper anyway - let me know what's getting your goat and I'll see if we can find a solution that's cheaper than buying CPVLab!

Hey Caurmen, can't help but notice your in just about every thread I've posted in or is lurking...

Yes.. I've signed up for POFPro's private beta, but haven't used it yet because I do not feel that it's ready, although i can see how it will be a game changer for POF once all the features are ready.

What would be awesome and i'm sure a lot of people would like to see in prosper is being able to rotate & track separate LP internal instead of having to implement a script externally.

BTW, I've recently downloaded STM's MobTracker which is just really a suped-up version of prosper202.

So what i was wondering is, do people usually have separate tracking setup for regular traffic and mobile?

I'm not currently running any mobile traffic campaigns yet, but looking to go down that route in the near future.

And I don't see why the MobTracker can't be used for both regular and mobile traffic.

So i'm thinking of just moving everything over to the Mob Tracker to keep everything all in on place.

Whats your take on this?

I'm mostly a Web traffic guy rather than mobile, so to be honest I'm not sure - however, there's a good chance my server optimisation follow-along (starting this week or next) will be based on mobile traffic, so I'll check it out then and let you know!

My understanding is that mobile has rather different variable tracking requirements, so you might find that there are good reasons to keep them separate.

One option for LP rotation within Prosper, meanwhile, is Landing Page Genius - I've not used it myself (I've just ended up customising the standard Prosper rotator instead) but I've heard good things about it.

Thanks. I'll definitely look into Landing Page Genius, never knew it exist.

And i will be looking forward to reading your up and coming guides.

Thanks once again.
