Far and away the most intuitive site and page builder ever.
Plus Adobe offers 30 day full working trials!
Rinse and repeat.
AdobeTV has free videos on how to use it too.
And I found some Lynda Vids on it as well. Don't really need them unless you want to go deep as its really easy to use Muse.
IF it's OK here , I can up to DepositFiles(free) and members can down them.
Muse can import button states straight from Pshop and make them work!
Muse is showing up on Torrents now too!
Very interesting!
How does it compare to Easel.io? I've been using that recently to build LPs, and I'm very impressed.
In particular, how clean's the code Muse produces?
I do know that at this time, what starts in Muse stays in Muse.
Unknown if Adobe will offer a way to convert a Muse generated page into something that DW can then use.
Like other page generators such as NetObjects Fusion, it doesn't do well when imported into DW, etc.
But for very fast and easy to make Landers it's way cool.
It's a new product and Adobe updates it every other month at this point. Torrents are keeping up .
I look forward to the day when I can rip a page, open it in Muse and change it around.
I've used Muse and loved it, mainly because it was much cleaner/easier to make really nice shapes/simple layouts and the integration with Adobe products. One of the main things I liked was the simple project management for making tweaks of landers, but on the other hand the lack of any html/code insertion is a bit annoying. E.g. would be nice to be able to insert code snippets in the page within Muse rather than afterword with Dreamweaver. The exported html has some muse xml junk and I think inclusion of some javascript on a CDN but it's easy to just rip it all out.
There are some things WYSIWYG Web builder is better at but for pure simplicity/speed I think Muse is better. Now if they added code editing/insertion and custom CSS stuff they would be rockin...
Dragos - I don't use Dreamweaver, I'm afraid, so I'm not sure. At risk of sounding like Hipster Programmer Guy, my primary web design tools are Firefox and Editpad (and Photoshop, of course). I will say that one of the things that really impressed me about Easel was its HTML export - very clean and intelligent.
Zeno - yeah, Easel won't allow arbitrary HTML inserts either. It's a right pain.
Actions in muse are slow on my pc for some reason.
What do you mean by 'actions'?
Click a button etc. Noticeable lag all the time. All other adobe apps don't do that. That air shit must be the problem.
Yeah probably Air. From what I have read there are a lot of bugs and performance issues so probably not worth waiting for a fix. I have found I got weird slow mouse issues with some programs (inc. some adobe programs) in the past and the problem was the windows aero interface. Fixed it by changing the compatability options for the program > turn off desktop composition. If you're using Windows try that, worth a try I suppose.
If that doesn't work, you can always try the "nuke the site from orbit" option of switching to the Windows 7 Basic theme (assuming you're on Win7), which will disable all Aero features. If that improves things, you can then turn options back on in Control Panel->System And Security->System->Advanced System Settings->Performance
Will try caurmen. Good suggestion.
I can export HTML and open it in DW.
So that helps when code is needed to be tweaked.
Be great if we could rip a site and open it in Muse!
Muse reminds me of NetObjects Fusion , but even easier.
Holy crap.
That alone was worth the 100 dollars I just paid...
Lynda.com has a muse video course for those who are new to building lps.
Just curious - can someone who has used both compare this to easel.io?
Haven't messed with easel.io but I am liking this Muse so far. Pretty simple to get things and done and style elements as you like.
And I haven't used Muse yet, but I'm quite impressed with Easel.io.
It has a free demo which doesn't even require you to sign in or download anything, so I'd say go have a play with it!
My major complaint with Easel would be that it bundles rather more custom CSS than I'm comfortable with. We'll see how much it slows down an LP when I do my page speed case study later this week...
Yes the actions and performance is slow when in Preview mode.
If you want to see what's up while building a site use File/Preview in browser.
I found the Lynda course on Muse, If anyone needs it. And the lates version of Muse which is 3.2 has been cracked and is on Piratebay, etc.
Muse generates cleaner and less code then does NetObjects Fusion.
Hey Sandyone, i would love it if you could post some LP's done in Muse.... im new to LP design and want something i can work off of in Muse to test out...
Zeno made a nice video about Muse http://stmforum.com/forum/showthread...-.-Y-.-)/page2
