Landing Page Feedback Wanted (18)

Landing Page Feedback Wanted

Hey Guys,

I haven't been able to break more than 4-5% conversion rate using a landing page. Only slightly better than direct linking at 3%. The CTR is great at 60%+. My top ad images go into the 6 boxes on the right.

I will post the ctr and conv rates of the modified landers as we make changes. Any feedback is appreciated.

What network are you running it with? Are you split testing other networks? Also, which mate1 lander? That's a pretty low CVR for mate1 from my experience.

running with ads 4 dough. female tiles lander. have not split other networks. i don't have enough money to spread it over multiples.

It strikes me as quite text-heavy.

It's always tempting to fill every last corner of the page with more benefits/calls-to-action/etc, but I think you might actually see an improvement by adding some white space to accentuate your main points.

For example, by condensing your copy and removing any non-essential text:

"A recent study shows that dating success rates are 57% better in the month of January"

This becomes...

"You are 57% MORE Likely to find love on Mate1 in January!"

And...

"It's Free to browse. You have nothing to lose and will be blown away by the selection of women!"

Becomes...

"Free to Use, Nothing to Lose! Take your pick from [city]'s hottest!"

I think you could probably reduce the entire copy on the page by 30%. That would improve the readability and up your CTR.

Also, I'd replace top-left banner with a nice amateur pic (maybe try outsourcing on Fiverr... get a girl to hold a sign with your call-to-action, or "I'm looking on Mate1" or whatever)

I'd also use a different larger call-to-action. The current one looks crammed.

Thank you Finch. Is the text block at the bottom right ok or can that be shortened as well?

I lost my first FB account yesterday, so new stats will have to wait for a few days. Stay tuned.

The main tip i'd give is you need a better flow on the landing page. It's very messy.

Try 1 or 2 main headlines/areas and then the call to action button. Sometimes less clutter can make a world of a difference if you communicate the right messages in the limited space

I would condense the bottom part to:

Our women are demanding more guys from [state]! We've got [7] free spots remaining for guys over 30.

This offer expires in [countdown]. Join now!

(If you're too late, don't worry. Free registrations re-open in July.)

The final line is usually the killer. A bit like that classic, "If the lines are busy, please call again.". You want to portray scarcity and high demand.

That's awesome, I wish I had your writing skillz

Does the use of the word free on the lander affect quality for the advertiser or is it mostly on the ad that affects the backend? Is there a way to get the same effect without using free if quality is going to be an issue? I have free on my lander now, but was considering taking it out for the sake of the advertiser.

Yes, it usually does harm the quality score.

I prefer to brand the site as a premium service, and instead of offering a 'free sign-up', I'll offer an 'exclusive preview' or an 'exclusive sneak peak'. You don't want to hide the fact that it's a premium service, but you also want to make sure you're getting the freebie across to maximise sign-ups. It's a delicate balance.

Was playing around with this yesterday, those girls are nuts! Got some awesome photos coming in now though, so I'm glad they feel $5 is worth their time....

How did you loose your FB account? any accounts provider (1k/day spend limit) suggestion?

01-24-2013 05:40 PM #12 2modest (Member)

No idea. been running the same ads for a few weeks now, and dating in general for a few months. Guess it was time

I did start a new campaign in a new country, maybe the locals didn't like my ads and reported me

Ok, so first of all, you're in Burbank??? Waddup son, me too! We should meet up.

Second, the whole clutter issue needs to be solved, but the main thing that strikes me is the fact that the CTA button is almost hidden by that novel you have right above it. I would change that whole wall of text to just

"Registration is currently OPEN and FREE to men (30+). Sign up now while you still can!
(add offer ends tomorrow or something if you really want. You already have a timer)

That gets the same point across, but you don't hide the button underneath all that text. Also, make the button bigger.

Why two CTA buttons? Just make the bottom one a hell of a lot bigger, and make sure it all fits on one screen (no scroll). IMO get rid of the whole blue box with "looking for a new gf..." you already have a better headline on the page.

Yes like everyone else said - less text, more powerful benefits. This lander works well when done right.

01-29-2013 08:51 PM #15 spamalot (Member)

Try using statistics like: "Recent site statistics show that 90% of our women prefer men aged 30-35" etc..

Make it seem like everyone is doing and that they might be missing out if they dont sign up now

and as finch said some more white space wouldnt hurt

Round 2 - decided to try some female stuff out.

42% CTR, 5% conversion rate (could be the offer. hasn't been the most stable for me.)

Opinions?

02-21-2013 10:55 PM #17 2modest (Member)

and another. similar stats. 47% CTR, 5% conversion rate.

since the numbers are similar, I can only assume that the copy is no good. they are both using the same copy

02-21-2013 11:02 PM #18 2modest (Member)

and one more for you guys who need LP ideas.

This one totally tanked. 10% CTR but surprisingly same conv rate of 5% (makes you kinda wonder.) I can only assume its because I dont have a CTA above the fold. You cant see it in the image but on my computer, the fold is right where the pink "why join mate1" button.
