Hi guys,
After running mobile campaigns for own products while working in company decided to start to do some affiliate marketing.
Signed up with the local russian CPA network, got good looking iPAD offer with 1.45$ payout for the installs from Russia and the networks average CR about 3.06%
But this looks like impossible to break even and profit with minimum CPC bid of 0.05$ ?
(this minimum bid requirement @ inmobi.com, mmedia.com, mobfox.com, etc . Even for geo like Russia!)
So where is a juicy (margin) ? Where i am mistaken?
or the trick that we have to ahieve better than average networks CR picking up the right carriers / wifi / device models / etc ?
You might want to investigate traffic sources where you pay on CPM. That way your effective CPC is a function of your CTR and not set by an artificial price floor.
Chize is 100% correct - always test, analyze, check it over and over again and improve your bids.
Talk to reps and ask if they can go lower. Don't accept it just because the self-service platform says.
If interested, we met these guys at the last Affiliate Summit. A search engine in Russia with mobile traffic, and sells on a cpc. No idea of quality. They said cpc ranges based on bids. www.Yandex.com email: evening@yandex-team.ru
yandex is the largest post-USSR search engine, but I highly doubt that they got much traffic outside of this geo
Unless i'm mistaken you can definitely get ruski clicks for 5cents on most platforms
you can get 1 cent per click from buzzcity and airpush for sure.
Also, if you can not get the minimum epc lower than 5cent, then you should work with cpm. Most(I was going to say) super mobile guys are doing CPM, CTR of your banner and text ads is so important since all the ad networks make money by cpm.
Another cheap traffic source is redirection traffic, you can get traffic even lower than 1 cent.
I figured out the cpc I needed and contacted a rep. They lowered the min from 0.05 to 0.02 on the campaign I identified. There is no shortage of inventory.
Which network?
