First proper attempt at an adwords campaign

Hi, I am about to attempt an adwords dating campaign for targets 35 and over. I have read "google adwords that work" and am halfway through "Cashvertising". Both are great books. I have also been reading books on html and css and know a little of both.

I bought a $4.99 landing page from www.adsandlps.com and have been modifying it myself. Screen shot below:-

My ad copy on the landing page was rushed and I aim to change it to something based on the life force 8 and the principles i read in cashvertising. I have also extended the landing page so I can add more content and a video in a hope to boost customer confidence and earn more respect from google quality scoring. I will keep all the key points and sign up button above the fold.

I am using Keyword Elite 2.0 for keyword research, some days it works great other days it freezes and is unusable but I am slowly building a good list and will set up a few ad groups with maybe 3-4 ads per ad group.

Any tips before I begin?

Not familiar with the book you are reading. But last time I checked thin affiliate sites with little or no content will get you banned.

Use your targeted keywords list to create several pages of unique content closely related to the keywords. You should make sure your page is properly indexed and seo'd before starting Adwords. Spending $4 on an LP and three paragraphs of content won't be enough.

If your site is a legit indexed website with rank and good content, you can get away with placing a thin keyword specific landing page to drive conversions. Maybe even consider keyword insertion on the lp and call out the users geo location. But make sure you have a link to your site map and terms and conditions ect. And a path back to the main site.

This is the legit way to run an Adwords campaigns that will get you high the quality scores that you need to be successful on the keywords and allow you to rank on the serps of the paid listings. Definitely not as easy as the old days before quality score and google slaps. Good luck

If you want to save yourself the time of building out a site and following all of the instructions given you can just advertise on Bing/Yahoo (AdCenter) instead.

Go with Adowrds and listed to dmcsite.

Getting your website "IN" is the first issue, but you can take care of that by adding a few content pages (4-5) + all the legal pages (terms, declaimer, etc) + contact us page with a WORKING contact form.

Start SLOW. not too many keywords (5-10 keywords etc time until you'll get some data). not enough traffic..? add the next 5-10 keyword from your MASTER keyword list.

You need good CTR - bid high. shoot for 1 position at first. optimize after you'll get some conversions.

Thanks everyone, that was an eye opener. I didn't realize Google were so strict with landing pages. I will take your advice and implement it before I begin. Thanks again.

It doesn't help Q score. It does help you to not get banned ;-) Its mandatory to have them.

I'm curious, is anyone on here consistently running Google Adwords traffic for male dating offers either as an affiliate or product owner?

I have come across a follow along for someone running dating on adwords and he was running profitable just can't trace the follow along right now

There was a website called Top10SeniorDating.com (aff. review site) which consistently ranked #1 on adwords for senior dating... for probably 4-5 years. They must be doing 50%+ CR to compete in that market where CPC can be as high as $6-10 bucks and P.O isn't that much higher ($12-15 at best).
