what domain name? (10)
Hi All,
A newbie question here so go easy on me 
I've finished the STM guide and am about to get everything set up (CPVlab, vps hosting, networks, etc.)
One question, the domain name needed for the hosting: I'm assuming that will be needed and shown for my landing pages, if so is there anything to avoid or anything to include in the domain name which may help with getting people from the landing page to the sign up page?
Can anybody share some advise on this one?
It depends on the niche and traffic. If you're going after PPV traffic you may want to avoid any related keywords in the domain name because others could start popping over your landing pages. With other types of traffic, I would go with something related to the niche for the domain name to help build trust.

Domain for landing pages or CPV Lab?
If it is for CPV Lab, just use something short and generic. Like abctrk.com or anything, try keep it short.
For landing pages, you could get a relevant niche domain for it. You don't need to worry about SEO and keywords if you are using 100% paid traffic. You can host this on your tracking domain by using an addon domain.
Otherwise you could use a subdomain and do something like myrelevantnichetitle.abctrk.com. This is when it can be beneficial to have a short tracking domain name.
Try take some measures to ensure others can't browse through all your LPs easily:
- Disallow indexes via HTACCESS
- Don't put your LPs in guessable locations. Don't do something like domain.com/lp1, domain.com/lp2.

Not all of the info in these posts are 100% necessary and using everything could be overkill.
how about prosper202 tracking system?should i use short domain as well?cause i have use long domain name for my prosper202 tracking system.
On another forum someone actually had tested a niche related domain (like whateverdating.com) vs a generic domain (like abctrak.com) and he said it made absolutely no difference in conversions or CTR. I have yet to try it myself though so no guarantees

Go with something like 'com-27.net' then setup wildcard subdomains and you have unlimited domains at your fingertips.
