FB Advertising Disable and Other Crap..

Hey everyone..

Feeling very down today..first my old advertising account got a bump to $250/day yesterday and after a couple of hours my FB account was locked due to suspicious activity (hacked).

Today submitted my gov id for verification and waited a few hrs, then I went in and identified my friend's images. Great, account was unlock and the first thing I did was to check my "Manage ads" section and got this :

Ad Manager Error
Our systems have detected unusual payment activity on your account. As a security precaution, the payments functionality on your account has been disabled and all of your ads have been stopped. For more information, please contact us.

WTF?!

I was doing great with this new campaign that was running before all hell went down on me. I was getting stats like this :

CPC - $0.08 - $0.14
Clicks - a few hundred a week
Conversion - up to 9% (direct linking)
It was a dating offer and I was making 80 - 150% ROI

I've contacted FB adv team for reactivation and I really hope someone here can share some light to bring back my advertising account.

I would share the campaign and offer details to anyone that can help me get the account activated again - the right ideas or actions - just as a token of appreciation.

Thanks a lot guys...

I had something similar, but didnt have to send ID. I had at first a paypal issue, then I logged in from a different IP. Thats when I got the suspicious login activity and the ads error message. An hour later I got all the money I invested into FB refunded. With a ban. Can't complain because I got all my money back, however now trying to make another fb acc which isn't easy so far.

So I got banned not because of my campaigns, but because of suspicious IP and payement activity. Might be your case too.

Which offer was this?

12-30-2012 03:21 PM #4 thatguy (Member)

I didn't have any issue with PayPal and IP because I am always using the same IP. No refund, nothing.

Did you contact them to resolve the issue?
I just did and hope it'll resolve it.

Yes not easy to make a new account and use it without getting into such trouble...

Why not just contact them as they have asked? You've already had your Gov ID approved and account unlocked. I'm sure you can blag the rest if you just contact them.

You'd be surprised at how far you can get with just sending a few emails back and forth with a rep at Facebook Ads. Even after I got my account ban - "their final decision" - I emailed a few times and I got my account reinstated. It is possible.

I know you may be running a fake account and all that, yada yada yada. The way I see it, you're already screwed, so contacting them and trying to get the whole thing sorted (which may or may not be just be a small billing error) is a no brainer - you have nothing to lose.

Thanks for the motivation richard. Yes I have already contacted them and was asking for any other ideas or backup plan if it didn't work.

As for the account, it is my personal, genuine and the only account I've ever used. I got a lot to lose mate

suspicious activity means?? what did you do?? buying vouchers/ pre-loaded credits etc??

edit: I thought of buying $1000 credits preloaded for just $300, mehdi advised me not to go for that

Better off just buying a Rep account?

What I mean is, they've already locked your account. You've essentially lost everything already. By being persistent and contacting them, you have nothing to lose.

Is this your genuine first ads account? Were you running everything clean? If the answer to both of these is Yes, then it won't be a problem getting your account back.

Why was your account banned? Did you receive multiple warnings about the ads you were running? If yes, then that still won't be an issue getting your account back.

The first thing you need to get over is the emotion. Losing Facebook accounts is pretty much part of the game (unless you're running nothing even slightly borderline).

I got the account unlocked but the ad manager is disabled. Yes my genuine first account with all clean advertising.

The account was disable due to the reason posted above but I didn't receive any warnings about my ads.

Thanks for your advice

Nope, this is my personal profile and ad account.

How to do that, and is it safe?

I can almost guarantee that you will get the ads manager unlocked..... I got my personal (also genuine) account back 4 times in a row. They banned it, I filled out the form and literally the next day I received that beautiful email that says "your ads manager has been reactivated and you are now able to make payments."

When an account gets locked and asks for I.D. then the ads manager is also locked by default... That's a technique I use to get accounts back... If it gets banned, give it some time, then log in from a different ip and basically "hack" your own account and get it locked... Then regain control of the account and send them the form in the ads manager error page and you should be able to get the ads manager unlocked super easily (results may vary)

I am able to always do this as well! I just play the dumb card and it always works

Thanks for the feedback man, but I received an email today :

Our records indicate that your payments account was disabled due to suspected fraudulent activity. In the interest of protecting our users, we will not be able to reenable your payments account. This decision is final.

Thanks for your understanding,
I've request for reconsideration as for now..anything else I can do guys?

OK - You need to discuss this with them now. Ask them what they mean by "fraudulent activity". No one here can you help with that. There is no backup plan. Nothing else you can do now.

As crazy as FB are, they wouldn't lock your Ad Manager for no reason, unless it's a bug in the system. I suggest you wait until a rep can respond to you and liase with them and get it sorted. Just get them to look into your account, and as MJDUB said, "play dumb".

It doesn't sound like you have anything to be worried about. It's a genuine account and you didn't receive any warnings about your ads. You're fine...

In the mean time, you could start creating multiple accounts so in future, down time like this doesn't hit your monthly margin...

12-31-2012 03:22 AM #16 trust93 (Member)

Just keep filling out the form... You will get it back eventually like I said "Results May Vary"

12-31-2012 03:53 AM #17 kenny_powers (Member)

If you didn't receive any messages from before the block, you will be ok. They will unlock the ads manager within a day or two.

You guys are awesome, thanks a lot!

Yes I'll continue doing that and hope it gets sorted. Meantime, need to continue with a new account and here is my plan :

1. Same network IP - i heard this shouldn't be a problem
2. Different PC
3. Different name, cc and details

Will that be good enough? I heard cc is a better payment option than paypal (which is my current account).

I swear there was nothing wrong with my account, and in fact I was logged in and monitoring my campaigns when I got 'kicked' out from the system and locked. It was attached to my personal paypal account and everything was paid up-to-date.

trust93 - that's a great idea. Probably the ticket will fall to someone else that can look into the account better?

Thanks guys, really appreciate..

Yes no messages except for - Your ad has been approved & Your daily limit has been increased (all positive stuff). Yet today I received the email that account was disable and the decision is final.

That's an interesting approach, I tried this a while back but without ad manager usage the block only requests phone / dob or pic verification.
none the less you gave me some ideas to try.

Anyone build up accounts on their own and have any insight into the manual review needed to go above $1k/day? I am not cloaking, but am running borderline images. Is it risky to ask for a review?
