I can't seem to get Prosper to track the clicks coming from POF! Am I missing something? I tested all the links before I submitted them to POF and they all track perfectly fine. Whether I plug the URL directly into browser or click on the link off of one of my creatives, it tracks without any problems. I even had a few friends try the links and you guessed it, it works!!
I have even generated another link, and had to manual plug each one in for all 100 creatives, and still nothing!!
Apparently I have 100+ clicks says POF, but my prosper managed to track 2 or 3 Real Clicks, and I believe those were from POF because the were around the same time my ads got approved.
THIS IS WHAT MY LINK LOOKS LIKE
http://www.MyDomainName.com/?t202id=431&c1={age:}&c2={gender:}&c3={state:}&t20 2kw=KEYWORD
The only time it's not tracking is when POF Users(or Other Affiliates) see and click on my ads.
Any Idea what might be wrong? Cuz I'm out of ideas and down $100 of untracked traffic!
Anyone??
MY NEW LINK
http://www.domainname.com/.../?t202id=384&c1={state:US}&c2={gender:Male}&c3={age :31-50}&c4={creativeid:}&t202kw=IMG
Work when I plug into browser directly, every thing is tracked the way it should, and is updated instantly in Spy View.
I resumed a campaigns temporally to test the link through POF, without any luck.
POF claims I had 10 clicks in the short time the campaign was up, but prosper claims 1 click, around the same time my ads were re-approved (because I changed url).
I have tested the links vigorously before using them on my POF Ads because of my previous attempt also did not work.
I've rewatched all prosper202 videos, Ipyxel's tutorial, youtube, all of STM, and whatever else i could find similar to this issue.
I've tried everything and this is my last resort. It's been dragging on too long and I want to be able to launch a campaign that I can successfully track.
Anything would be greatly appreciated!!
PS: Hosting with HOSTGATOR.com if that makes any difference.
Shared hosting? Switch maybe... my Prosper had trouble keeping up with clicks from Bing users (who are more patient than POF users) -- could be that many close the window after not seeing the page load right away?
But if Prosper is tracking 2 or 3 clicks from 100, that's highly unlikely.
Is your Prosper database huge/full? Clear it from the admin section.
I am in the process of setting up a new Prosper installation for POF.
If clearing the DB does not work, try uninstalling Prosper then reinstalling -- you'll need to delete the MySQL DB and user to clean things up. Godspeed, kjaffill!
Go through the step 6 vids at http://tracking202.com/videos
If you PM me your URL with real domain attached, I can take a look and see if there's anything obviously wrong.
You're on shared hosting, am I correct? That might be a problem, but let's eliminate other variables first.
Have you managed to get this Prosper install to track clicks from other traffic sources?
I had the exact same problem and it didn't get solved until I switched to beyondhosting's vps. There's a coupon around here for 50% off the first 6 months of using it.
Here's the BeyondHosting coupon: http://stmforum.com/forum/showthread...Hosting-50-OFF
To be honest, I'd strongly recommend moving to a VPS. Even if the shared hosting isn't what's causing your problems, shared hosting will bite you in the ass sooner or later. A VPS is really the minimum necessary for affiliate marketing.
(Incidentally, I'm currently testing a hosting company that claims to offer a $5 VPS. Look for more info soon!)
Hey guys sorry for the late reply. Was monitoring the thread but gave up after a week or so without any replies, so I finally decided to reach out to Ben @ POF.
He explained to me that the issue was due to "Discrepancy"? Anyways what he said was that I needed to account for other peoples internet connection speeds.
Just cause I have Fast Internet, it doesn't mean everyone does. And with shared hosting, the speeds it will deliver are just too unstable i suppose.
Anyways, like most of you mentioned, it was due to my shared hosting. After switching to beyond hosting, haven't had any issues yet.
Thanks anyways guys, appreciate you guys taking the time to answer my question.
