lol - FB Ad Approvers

I had to laugh out loud today. Uploaded a new dating ad and it was disapproved.

The image of your ad violates our Ad Guidelines. Images may not be overly sexual, imply nudity, show excessive amounts of skin or cleavage, or focus unnecessarily on body parts.
Ok, I get that. She is a bit busty. No problem (even though I've seen her in quite a few ads other people have been using). I'll move on and use other images.

A bit later today I am in my personal FB account and then see the following ad:

Really? If my ad/image is overly sexual, then what is this one?

And don't get me wrong - I understand the issues about ad approval and disapproval and retro-disapproval and one reviewer might approve what another one does not. I just thought this was a prime example and wanted to share.

You get different reviewers, they are subjective so yeah. Though, don't expect awesome images like that one above to survive long, the good old retro hammer cometh.

If you pay me $1,000,000 I will show you how to get ads through like this all day long.

For educational purposes, here's how you would "potentially" get any creative approved (when linking to an external website):

- Take a ridiculously clean image.
- Create tons of variations of that image with slight changes in each. This will ensure the entire batch of creatives - except the outlier creative - aren't just approved in one go, since the MD5 for each will be different. There's tools for this.
- Submit hundreds of these clean creatives together. Ideally during odd hours. Again, there's tools for bulk submissions like this.
- Somewhere in the large batch, have the one creative with the image you really want approved.

That should do it. The first few creatives would be reviewed, some in-between, and maybe the last few before the entire batch is approved. Delete all the creatives you don't intend to use in case there's a retroactive disapproval across all ads in your account. Having too many creatives retroactively disapproved may trigger a ban, so it's better to just delete what you won't be using.

Now ask yourself though, knowing that it's not a long-term strategy and will likely jeopardize your account - is it worth it?

Facebook are disapproving their own example images

1) Upload the image again
2) Trim down your cleavages
3) Flip it horizontally
4) Play around with the pixels (+/- a few pixels)

Try a few variations above. I've managed to get some more "aggressive" images approved that way ( > 0.5% CTR) that doesn't contain nude (some where suggested nude though, like you cut out a obviously nude babe without the nude, the mind will think that way). Don't upload too many sensitive images at once though, you might just get a quick ban. One at a time with a couple safe images.
