what did i do wrong here?
thanks
Your not alone. I had a high CTR on the same offer 7-8% , 1200 clicks and only 1 conversion. I know something was wrong so I wont be running any mobile offers with them.
i see no ther replies, nobody wants to share their knowledge?
Over the course of the last 12 months I have watched the epc go from .30 to .01. Its hard to find a good slots offer right now.
You should have notice that the app is 50.8 MB in size and user can only download that using wifi connection.
So target wifi users only instead of carrier traffic.
I've never ran slots, but Nuggets of knowledge like the one about from ramgunjal are so key.
@rafeal
Some future tips:
- Just because you see other running it doesnt mean its working. It could all be run internally by the advertiser who makes recurring revenue from the app players
- Did you try any custom banners or a landing page?
- Other banner sizes?
What i'm getting at is the test you did is way to inconclusive. It's like trying to throw a rock in a cup in your backyard and saying you'll never be an athlete. Test more, try your own ideas and see what can sprout from that.
If simpleliving speaks the truth, then you might want to try all this with a new mobile offer
- I had epc's of over 0.20 on SlotsJourney for a few months - holding steady and at volume (1000+ /day). As the offer became "hot" it started scrubbing big time - especially on US traffic. This was about a year ago and like all games its about the flavor of the month. Games die out quite quickly ito popularity.
- the wifi comment...yes it "makes sense" but I can assure you that this offer did FAR better on carrier traffic then on wifi. Its pretty much the same on all games. 50MB is not big for a game and pretty standard for iPhone games. when it gets to 200MB + I wouldn't even run it cause your conversions will just drop out.
- in general games convert quite low (2-3% is about average). Its not uncommon to run 5000 clicks and get 0 conversions. There are so many variables to test and unless you test them properly you are better off running something else.
Games perform very differently on each site/app, on each placement (in-game are worse placements), on each carrier, on each OS, on wifi. I don't think I've ever spend less than $250 on a test to start seeing real potential in a game.
The biggest tip I can give you is to look for fresh games with $1.50+ payouts. Those with millions of install are probably already run dry on the main traffic sources.
