best good tracking system?

i am on 7search and trying to figure out their tracking code. I got it to work on one campaign - then it did not work on another.

Getting ready to go to Google Adwords for campaign also - but losing money in 7search - so not so eager to go lose money at Google also.

I had a friend suggest to download Prosper202 which is free but needs a $45 a month virtual private server. Not sure if i am ready for that.

what is a good tracking system for a n00b to start with that not too hard to figure out?

Not looking for super sophisto tracking that hard to set up and super exensive.

thanks in advance for any feedback.

Setup Prosper202 on any shared hosting you have; in any case you need one to host your landers. You don't need a VPS to track a few thousand clicks a day.

i wouldn't recommend running p202 on shared hosting..if you are just starting out i would recommend the smallest http://beyondhosting.net/Virtual-Pri...x-VPS-Hosting/ VPS. On shared hosting you are risking clickloss because of server downtime etc..so in the end you'll safe nothing with shared hosting. another reason is..if you find a winning campaign and you want to scale it you'll need to switch to a VPS/Dedicated anyways..so it's better to start with a good setup from the beginning.

EDIT: Another option would be http://www.bevomedia.com/home it's not self-hosted but free and still better than running on shared hosting.

thanks nusolutionz --

ok; so i went over to bevomedia.com and signed up there. They have a premium service that is $19.95 a month and i am looking at their classroom info and they have a forum and live chat for support.

one thing i did like right off was that they have Commission Junction as a vendor to add - I am already in CJ and those are current products i am doing PPC on - so that a good start for tracking.

i will try that for a month and see how it does and let the group know my results.

Prosper202 works fine on any VPS for tracking, heaps of dudes are running it on this forum.

When you have a bit more cash in your pocket, I suggest to buy cpvlabs cos its a bit easier to set up and track rotation of landing pages/offers, but thats just my opinion
