I know that there is plenty has been said about mobile co-reg and especially how the game has been negatively affected by the changes to ATT regulations. However i would still like to bring this subject up once again and brainstorm with everyone who is interested. So please do not hesitate to put your thoughts forward.
GT is out of the game there is no question there. Now there is only SP that some, including myself, still work with. At the better times (not so long gone but probably never to be back again) I experienced RPU as high as $1.30. However, the average RPU was hovering around $.75. Getting traffic at $0.045 per click and converting only 10% of traffic to users/buyers/sales i was enjoying a steady 65% ROI. I know that some might have done better but at that time i was truly enjoying the ride. Now since the regulations have changed the average RPU i get is $.44. As you can appreciate at this rate, providing everything stays the same, it is impossible to make money. Your ROI becomes negative. However, I was told by my AM that lately the traffic provided by affiliates has doubled. When I asked him about the RPU's, he said that their top guy made $9,800 revenue in one particular day at $.36 RPU. The network top RPU for the same day was $.53 Now, with my equation RPU $.36 would have just killed me. So that got me thinking. Obviously, from information supplied by AM we do not know whether the that guy did any profit or not. But i know that affiliates still work with mobile co-reg (pin submit) and even some are saying that it is good and even picking up again a bit.
So the way i see it there might can three solutions here:
1) Increase % of visitor to sales. So from 10%...let's say to 20%. this can only be achieved through LP work. (You are welcome to correct me here if I am wrong)
I would also like to know what is the industry % average visitor to sales. And what should i be striving for here?
I guess angle is very important too. I use sweepstakes - free iphone, best buy and walmart gift cards. anyone does it differently?
2) Cheap traffic - find traffic sources that are very cheap. Although i guess this migh impact the quality and might lower visitors to sales %.
I use push notifications. would also be interested to know other approaches.
Anyone can suggest such traffic sources?
3) Combination of both obviously - better landing page + cheap traffic.
Mobile co-reg path is interesting too. I know people are trying to build their owns or find some none PIN SUBMIT paths. it would interesting to know about this as well.
Please suggest and share)))) thank you kindly!!
When the ATT regulations hit I was able to make it work for a while longer by either placing an offer before the path, at the end, or would collect name and follow up with the offer or path for a second time. I never had the same ROI by combining offers but it does work and did for me for a short while. It wasn't enough though when click prices went up. When GT dropped off I pretty much stopped. I've done a few tests on SP but results were really inconsistent. I assume on mobile you would exclude ATT and get a decent RPU but I've never really been able to get mobile working for me in general with CTR.
