Facebook Coupon, Think Twice before using them

I know a lot of people on this board don't really bother with AD vouchers, but I have spoken to more than a few who do.

So thought I might share the consequences of using coupons and vouchers in Facebook.
Is that $50 worth it? you decide!!

Btw this post has to do with opening bid range and the effect the coupon on has on it.
I know cost comes down with higher ctr but you have have to mid at least midpoint to get impressions.

SOOO lets see suggested bids on 3 diff accounts.

Account 1 - Brand new account $0 Spend

Account 2 - With Coupon added and over $350 in spend ( had to stop using it )

Account 3 - No Coupon $300 Spent

So In conclusion the big tip here is if you use coupons DON'T, You'll be paying down that $50 they gave you long after you spend it, in hyper inflated bids.

P.S For this test I used identical ad setup including same url for all 3 accounts

would like to see 1 more case "brand new account with $0 spent and coupon added" if thats possible.
may be your ctr on account 2 was low and account 3 was high? also kind of ads/niche you have ran so far adds to it.

I am trying to find one, I stopped adding coupons while ago, I am sure I have one somewhere, I am sure someone here has an acc with a coupon in it, they can load same demo.

yes I can confirm this, I have been using lot of facebook accounts and have experienced this myself. I was using coupons earlier with new accounts but then I stopped using them because at the end I'd pay more to facebook after that $50 gets exhausted...

Suggested bids don't mean much, especially the suggested CPC. I'd have to see the data for actual CPCs on multiple fresh accounts with zero spends, half with coupons half with CC attached and all running similar campaigns, to consider the effect a coupon has. It would be counter-productive anyway for FB to charge more when using a coupon, that would scare people away.

This isnt a valid case study. IF i may suggest, create exact campaign and use same ad and copy.

COmpare ctrs and compare click costs this way.

Wasn't meant to be a case study, was just saying refrain from using coupons / vouchers on new accounts. doing so makes your initial bid significantly higher
