Beginner questions (company, facebook reach & bidding)

Hey guys,

1) Do I need a company to get started? I am from Austria (not Australia) and we don't have LLCs. I did a research and we have something similar, it's called GmbH but firstly you need a trade certificate for that which costs money and secondly you need a share capital of 10000 Euro. I haven't found anything similar to LLC yet, maybe somebody from Germany or even better Austria can help me out?

Is it possible to register an LLC in the US? Should I do that instead? Would the money be taxed in the US or Austria, or even worse, in both countries?

2) I read the STM Guide and after reading it I chose to use Facebook as my traffic source at the beginning. So i signed up at EWA and I can choose out of 30-40 offers. I thought that it would be a good idea to start with Dating. But how do I know if an offer is good or not? Also, where do I start? I'm fluent in English and German, which region is better? And how should I narrow down my reach? I mean the options are endless! Do I narrow it down to cities?
Also, a question about the suggested bid. How do I choose this? I mean it suggets me a CPC in the range of 1,23$ to 2,58$ (example). Of course I am suggesting the lowest bid possible? Or how does this exactly work?

Thank you in advance

At least in the US, you don't need an LLC until you're actually making some money (at which point it's beneficial for tax purposes). Find out for sure though.

I recommend going with German speaking countries. You'll find it a hell of a lot cheaper and less competitive than English speaking countries.

Go as broad as possible. Maybe split up by age groups.

Ask your AM for recommendations on offers, test them out yourself.

Test an assload of ads, keep the high CTR ones, that will bring your CPC down a lot.

Thanks, that already helps a lot.

Can you maybe explain the Facebook bidding? Why do they suggest a range?

The range is only a suggestion to get traffic to the ad unit... you will normally bid lower than the suggested amount.

Click CPM bid -> see what the median CPM bid is. Say it is $0.34. This is the best indicator you will find amongst the suggestions FB gives you. Consider this an average CPC price for an advert with ~0.100% CTR. So, switch back to CPC and bid around this or a little higher. Sometimes you wont get traffic, raise bids 3 or 4 cents then wait an hour, then repeat.
