Hey guys,
Do you guys pay tax? You see in HK, there is no need to pay tax if money is earned from other countries. But how about US local affiliates?
Also, do you guys create a company for your business? I bet some big guys here do so. Otherwise it will be difficult to engage in higher amount transactions like buying insurance, cars and flats, right? You have gotta have income proof.
the hk tax thing is true believe it or not.
sorry tono
I am moving to HK
hey guys another thing I wanna ask is do you guys create a company?
Because without a legal entity, there's no income proof. And without income proof many financial transactions become expensive or unavailable. E.g. insurance, mortgage, investment...
And for the HK tax thing, I want to point out one more thing: let's not forget the living expense is HK is among the most expensive in the world. For a 300 sq. ft. flat, it costs at least 300K USD. Though I am sure there's difficulties that I don't know about living in the US. =]
Everyone that makes "some" money on the internet has a company, it's just stupid not to have one. I took too long to create my first company (in brazil), I waited until I was making 20k$/month, and I regret that because I should have incorporated earlier, I had to pay much more tax on that 20k$/month than if I had a company.
Yes there are many many schemes you can do to pay less tax, or even no tax at all, all completely legal, but I would suggest you start with a LLC right now just until you get things rolling, then you can start thinking about ways to pay less tax.
Thanks for this thread akrtw1! I'm shopping around for business entities and didn't know that Hong Kong is tax free on revenue generated outside the country, I was looking into singapore earlier, but I now think HK will do just fine
Seychelles, BVI, Marshall islands etc all have this tax heaven reputation, and HK I think not...
glad that I help!
Googling Hong Kong citizenship laws now.
Well if your a noob you probably dont have a business and pay very little taxes if at all any from what you manage to make. If you are more experienced and want to play it right, then you need a business (LLC) or you can get a sole prop.
As for the super experienced / shady affiliates, they can register businesses in other countries under other names and just use offshore accounts and what not to avoid paying taxes, but thats not even my cup of tea yet
Hey guys really thankful to your contribution!
Though I don't know anything about the immigration law, you guys can pm me if you want me to investigate anything that you cant find on the Internet about HK. Perhaps I can make a call to related department and ask them. Haha phone call always better than emails.
Thanks!
there is also few others in EU that has pretty much same law.
