Attempting to make money via Solo Ads (18)
Hi all,
This is my first 'proper' thread here so I'd like to say hello and introduce myself first - My name is Adam and Im from the UK.
So as the title suggests I am going to attempt to make money from Solo Ads in the Forex niche.
I have a site www.best-daytradingtips.com which I will be reusing the content and hashing together a few reports to give to my list in order to build trust and confidence before hitting them with the sales.
This is going to be a month long test - as I want to send 10 free reports to the list (1 every 3 days) to stamp myself as an authority.

I have purchased 4 Solo Ads - the first ran yesterday, the second is due to run tonight, the 3rd tomorrow and the final one which is the largest amount of clicks is due to run on the 12th.
The first email was for 250 clicks and I have managed to gain 195 subscribers. They were all send the first report this morning with so far 46% of them opening the email and 37% downloading the first report.
In the reports there is a little 2 sentences which state that I recommend a ClickBank forex product - nothing hard, just saying that I use it in my day to day trading.
So far spend:
Solo ad 1 - $150
Solo ad 2 - $80
Solo ad 3 - $80
Solo ad 4 - $300
Total: $610
Revenue so far:
1 ClickBank sale - $82.09
Profit/Loss:
$527.91 LOSS
Subscribers so far:
195
Hopefully over the next 30 days I can show how to build a free 500+ targeted list in a niche while breaking even - a profit after the 30 days would be amazing
PS - Im not sure which category this fitted in - so mods please move it to the correct if this is wrong.
this is very nice, if i may ask where did you purchase your solo ads from? i hope you don't mind sharing that info? 
List building has always been one of those "I must get round to that" ideas that I've never got round to doing. Very interested to see how this works out for you. Seems good so far.

Thanks guys - It's been one of my "ill get around to it" kinda thing aswel.
A quick update:
2 Solo ads have now run totaling 350 clicks to my squeeze page
I now have 253 people subscribed to my list - who are currently opening emails at a 57% rate, and 42% actually downloading the first free guide - which I think is pretty good.
ClickBank analytics is currently down, but I know I have made no extra sales which is disappointing - but on the up side, there have been around 100 clicks to the affiliate page, and 11 order form views with just 1 sale.
This tells me that even though I am not hard selling yet, or built any trust with my subscribers they are willing to atleast consider buying.. and after 30 days of trust and confidence I hope they will be even more willing
I have another solo ad going out tonight for another 100 clicks and then the final one on the 12th which is for a whooping 500 clicks.
At current levels I should have a list of around 700 people at the end of this experiment, which if you listen to people who say that ever sub is worth $1 a month would cover my costs easily in 1 months time

out of interest, are you using double opt ins? Either way, once they confirm, are you presenting them with an offer wall of some kind? Just thinking if you can try and recoup some costs upfront with some little cpa offers it would be nothing but a good thing.
Also I have seen these types of #'s before from Solo ads. I am amazed at how you can get so many subscribers from there email blasts. From your description of opens and click throughs and views on the shopping carts it appears legit. Figure this one out and scale up and you will do well.

Where did you purchase your solo ads placements?
I purchased them through the Warrior Forum and through a search on Google. I am tracking each to find out which one provides the best results in the hope of purchasing more from that supplier.
At the moment I have had 3 Ads run for a total of 450 clicks. My list is now at 277 subs. There have been 120 clicks to the FapTurbo Sales page, 14 Order form impressions, but still only 1 sale 
I have just received an email from a sub thanking me for the information, and my opinion regarding FapTurbo and another ClickBank product - I basically pointed out the pros of FapTurbo from their sales page, and told him to read the other pros on their website with an affiliate link - so hopefully another sale soon
I have just sent out my second email with the 2nd free report - so I shall report back in 24 hours with the open and click stats.
Also, running tomorrow is the big 500 click ad - so hopefully many more subs tomorrow and possibly another sale or 2
Just a quick update on the first email that was sent -
No. sent - 183
No. opened - 110 (60%)
No. report downloads - 82 (45%)
So pretty encouraging
Dude. open rates and all are good but to make it easier track by your ROI ultimately it's all about the $$$

List 2 - First free report sent. 46% opened the email and 35% clicked.
I have just sent out the second report to list 2, so once this is sent I will be sending the following reports at the same time to both lists.
I shall keep you upto date when the next report is sent out

I tried solo Ads before but when I was ready to jump into the solo Ads ship, I was offered to JV a Facebook business so I focused on that.
It's still on my TO-DO list for 2014!
I'll definitely get into it in Q1 13.
