The Mobile Ad Network Market - a map and some observations...

A bit of research into the mobile ad network space you guys might find useful.

We have been putting together this market map of all the mobile ad networks out there. Unbelievably we counted over 150 of them. There are now literally hundreds of mobile traffic sources.

Alex and the Mobaff guys have always pointed out the impact that this sort of specialisation and fragmentation in the network space has on affiliates and performance marketing. Some of the advantage comes from finding the new traffic sources and ad formats.

A few things to note from our research:

We're gonna put out an actual list/ spreadsheet of all of these networks if people think that would be useful? Anyway interested to hear any thoughts on the trends noted above.

Good research - thanks James.

Yes, the spreadsheet would be really useful, and one only has to visit AdTech to see the impact that mobile is having in the space.

Thanks for the feedback all - really appreciate it Will take a look at getting all this into excel / google docs as you suggest.

As a result of pumping out the infographic we're already getting a load more mobile ad networks coming out the woodwork and a really interesting mobile buying platform has also hit us up so we'll be updating this.

Any comments on other useful info or thoughts in general would be great

yeah, a spreadsheet would be great - been working on one of my own here & there when I come across a network & putting in notes about what worked, didn't, etc. Landscape changes so fast - the one Revived put out recently even had a bunch of networks which were absorbed by others, others which changed their focus, etc.

Thanks all - we've actually found even more since we produced the map, and they've started getting added to our mobile ad directory here

The RTB / exchange space is throwing up a load of new players like Lean Market and so on that are becoming alternative buying platforms (vs the ad networks).

The spreadsheet is coming after Christmas hopefully so hold tight!

Hi All

Sorry for delay - you can grab a spreadsheet of the c100 traffic sources in our database here http://www.mobyaffiliates.com/guides...s-spreadsheet/

We have a load of new sources to add in so keep checking for the updates. We'll also be releasing the additional data we have on ad formats, tracking etc as another spreadsheet.

Another one coming for the CPNs (cross promotion networks) also
