Asmi's AM Journal
I'm not really good with posting on the forums but I thought it'd be a good idea to have a Journal / FollowAlong on STM, aim high targets, and keep myself accountable.
This thread will be an overview of my AM journey. Will update it with my progress in numbers only. I'll create a few other Follow Alongs for individual campaigns and/or traffic sources.
Targets:
------------
Profit: $30,000 per month ($1K per day).
Timeframe: By Dec 2013 (14 months from now).
History:
------------
AM Experience: 2 Years
Main Traffic Source: PPV
Max. Monthly Profit: $6,000 (Dec '11)
Plan:
--------
Already have a few successful financial campaigns on PPV. Try to scale them.
For new traffic sources, work on dating niche only and get really good at it. Start with POF, work my way to successful campaigns, then scale them over to FB and may be other traffic sources as well. The details of my plan may change but in essence I've narrowed down my niche to 'dating' and start with POF and scale to other sources.

Awesome, your on the right path
You have something stable, and your taking some of that income for further testing. I would recommend sticking with what you know before you jump ship to another traffic source. You clearly understand PPV, you should scale horizontally and try more niches in PPV

It sounds like whatever offers you're running really kill it on weekends.

Thanks Stackman !
Yeah that'd probably be quicker way to reach the financial target by sticking to one traffic source, but I'd like to have some diversity in my traffic sources even if it takes a little longer. Also, I want to stick to one niche ie. dating and get really good at it and POF seems to be a good place to start.

I didn't see any such pattern over a fair period of time. Some of the offers I'm running pay high and because my daily traffic volume isn't big there will be huge discrepancies in revenues on day to day basis. Weekly or monthly average is usually consistent.

From what you've posted, I think you are going to hit your 1k/day profit mark WELL before December 2013.

hi asmi gr8 follow along. congrats on awesome head start. your revenue/profit is quite sinusoidal. have you figured out why this is happening? is the offer or campaign drying? and you are again posting new campaigns? or is it just 1 campaign which is going up n down?

Hi asmifife,
you are doing very well. Sick ROI. Are you trying to scale, as in increase your ad spend?
From the looks of it, you could easily spend in the xxx/day range, and get back more!

2 CPA campaigns and a few CPS campaigns.
Revenue is irregular because traffic volume is low and almost all the campaigns pay high per lead/sale.

Existing profitable campaigns .. looks hard to scale except may be one offer where I can try some angles.

Haha nothing secretive brother.
I've mentioned in the OP that this thread is going to be updated with only the Spend and Revenue details and not individual campaign details. I wanted to start a couple of campaign follow along threads but haven't done yet.
Anyways, here's some info for those interested in what kind of campaigns I'm running right now. All are on PPV.
Payday Loan - $95 CPA - profitable - LP (10-15% CTR) - looks difficult to scale as I've run out of relevant targets,, and angles didn't seem to work for a payday loan offer.
Credit Report - $27 CPA - profitable - DL - scope to scale using angles.
CPS Offers - $20-$50 CPS - profitable - DL - no scope to scale.
Social Security Benefits - $11 CPA - break even - LP - not sure how to scale.
Free Diapers - $2 CPA - break even - DL - there was scope to scale this one, but I think I'm getting scrubbed now, so not sure what to do with this.

I hear a lot of people saying that they've run out of relevant targets; if that's the case, why not try irrelevant ones and see how it goes. You might be pleasantly surprised...
After a while with many of my campaigns I run out of targets so I revert back to trial and error. I posted a link to a csv with the top 1m urls
here. I just tend to chuck 20k targets at a time in to a campaign and watch it like a hawk. Most of the time you'll find targets that generate nice volume that you'd never have thought of.
I tend to only use this method on campaigns that are already generating a nice profit and give me the scope to lose a little while testing. word of warning though, don't chuck the targets in to your existing campaign as you run the risk of fucking your existing campaign up. Copy the one that's already working and load them in to that instead.

That ROI is insane mate ! Keep up the good work and you should soon hit the $1K profit mark
Your spend is always low, didn't you find any way to spend more ? new targets etc .. ?

Too little data to make a decision on a daily basis Paqman, he needs to average out on a week by or month by basis

Very nice ROI% mate !
Now stop being lazing about it and start thinking about making that permanent, because if you have a campaign that does $1300 spent for $4900 i'm sure that can lead to a $13000 / $30000 at least with some more volumes and tweaking ....

great to see your stable profit.
if you running these volume from ppv, and you may think a better server to handle your traffic, you may get 10% more revenue.
btw, if you running international traffic, managed DNS also a good choice for u.
just my 2 cents

As far as insight, maybe you could educate us on how you come up with your targeting/angles and how you go about selecting your offers. Basically, what sort of brainstorming and research do you do to setup your profitable campaigns?
