Does anybody make money with buzzcity at all? I've spent a couple hundred on at least 8-10 campaigns but the conversion rates are damn low to make sense of ANYTHING.
Also, my banners are getting nice CTRs & 1 cent clicks in the US but nothing seems to convert. Can anybody confirm if raising the bid gives better placements/traffic?
Thanks
i've had buzzcity profitable before on installs...raise your bids.
Yep, I agree raise your bids a bit.
I have to say Buzz City was one of the first mobile ad networks out there but they really haven't kept up with the field in terms of their user interface etc. Maybe they've suffered as so much of their inventory is from their in-house sites and Asia/ lower value markets? Maybe the pool of inventory you guys are hitting is the in-house mobile social network stuff and the bid raise gets you onto the 3rd party pubs?
We've got a profitable campaign with them right now in Saudi Arabia, but I agree 'normal bids' in US/UK seem to get poor quality traffic and no matter how high you bid you can't get more than a dribble of European traffic. Asia and some middle eastern states are definately their forte.
Yeah buzzcity US traffic sucks, but they are a huge network so somewhere you'll find something good
You should find a way to keep track of the "real traffic" they give you, Buzzcity has lots of shitty traffic such as bot traffic, proxy traffic, and the list goes on. I had a campaign targeting US and the total clicks was about 20k and more than 5k clicks were from Asia, India and almost everywhere... It hurts conversion badly as those users are not going to my actual offer. I find targeting Asia/Middle east will be a lot better compared to US/Canada.
So the way to block those traffic is to find a way to track based on IP along with GEO Data and then give them to your account rep. Your account rep can help you block those traffic as long as you have a way to give them something solid to proceed.
Anyway, I don't like the hassle and just move on to other networks and continue testing, that's just me though.
Hope it helps.
you should use buzzcity for ZA traffic, its pretty decent. I have made some good conversions. and of course, follow the recommended bids
Gave up on them after trying shit for the past 2 weeks
Ran a test campaign that works well on other platform. Spent $100. made $0. Bie bie Buzzcity
I do not work specifically, my associates do and they claim that traffic is really bad.
Proxy traffic was really bad and I asked to have an option enabled in the interface to block OVI Services traffic about a month ago. They asked me to give the account IDs where I wanted this option to be enabled.
Recently, I saw that this option has now been made available for everyone.
Device Targeting > Others > Exclude Proxied-browser Traffic
And if you would like to exclude Ovi Services on other platforms.. ask to block the following range:
I've noticed a lot of untargeted and bot traffic coming through from Buzzcity.
If you are going to buy traffic from them, just make sure that you're watching it closely and push for a refund on the bad clicks.
Also, make sure to get an account manager.
