CPC Bidding Question

Hey guys,

I've been trying Facebook again over the past couple of days and finally my camps have been approved and are running.

Here's my question:

How long does it take for Facebook to adjust your CPC's in relation to your CTR's?

Some of my CTR's, are around .07 and higher, which I feel, is pretty damn good. It's only been a couple days and while my CPC's have come down slightly, I feel they should be much lower.

Who's got the detes?

Thanks guys.

.07 is a very low CTR. Don't expect much of a drop. CPCs adjust pretty quickly when CTR changes, i.e. on the hourly timescale and faster. However if you're not breaking 0.100%, at least on some clicks, you're not going to see much. FB will give you lower CPCs over time on shitty CTR ads (provided they started out alright!) if you're running a bit of volume but after a couple of days you're going to be getting what you're getting.

What? Really? .07 is a really low CTR for Facebook? Looks like the information I've been getting is wrong then.

The good news is I have an ad right now looking promising at 1.3 but that's not with a lot of data so I doubt it'll actually be that high.

Just to confirm, we are talking 0.07% CTR? Yup, very low. I get ads that start well above 1% CTR but they don't stay there - generally it's from a surge in initial clicks before FB ramps up delivery to match which drives the CTR down. Though, those high initial CTRs are magic for your CPC. Just don't get excited and ramp up budgets to drive traffic to that advert - the CPC needs time to drop down and ramping up budgets in the middle of the day is a performance killer.
