Experienced Unix Admin available to handle your technical needs

Guys, I'm not doing so hot in the AFF world, so I thought I'd offer up my services as a Unix Admin.

About me:

I spent 14 years in Silicon Valley as a Unix Admin and Firewall Admin. Worked at all the big companies - Cisco, Paypal, eBay, AMD, Netscape, Silicon Graphics.

I work best with FreeBSD, but can easily handle all the flavors of Linux.

If you need assistance for all the technical stuff with AFF:

configuring/maintaining your VPS or cloud server
securing/hardening your server
managing your DNS and mail config
managing your Apache setup
managing your MySQL setup
installing and configuring Prosper or CPV Lab
need any scripting with Perl or PHP completed
need any data mining or log parsing or anything your mind can conjure up.

The good news - I'm in the US, I speak English, and I know my shit.
The bad news - I'm not dirt cheap like the folks on Fiverr or oDesk.

Like all admins, I'm a scripter. I can automate mundane tasks, but don't expect me to code a powerful app in C or C++.

I'll work on a project basis unless your a big media-buying AFF that wants someone FT.

If interested, just PM me or hit me up with the same username on Skype.

Tom

i'm new here but just wanted to say some nice things about tom aka scmtwells.

i needed some help with setting up my geo data on my server and aside from all the help he gave me in the post i made in this forum (title: Maxmind Geo Script), he spent quite a bit of time with me to answer my questions and did other related things i asked for as i came up with the requests on skype. he's a good guy who got the job done and who's help i totally appreciate. i don't have a clue about linux/unix/ssh stuff and even with step by step instructions online, i couldn't hack it because apparently there's different versions of commands and stuff that's not even mentioned at all in the instructions, so without tom, i'd still be left by myself scratching my head, ass, whatever.

so that's been my experience with him and i assume would be yours as well too should you decide to go with him.
