Add an extra $500-1k / day to your revenue!
Your ads are optimized, your lander rocks, but you cant scale it any further?
Add a pop under on your landing page! The pop under wont be seen until your victim (surfer) closes his browser, so it wont affect your conversion rates! This is basically free money you are leaving on the table.
I am mostly doing dating so webcams go hand in hand with it. Instead of popping some brokered webcam offer on your network i recommend to go direct -> here! PPL, PPS, Revshare.. you choose, you lose!
Make sure your pop under doesn't have any sound on it. Some squawking webcam whore in the background will freak out your surfers!
That will easily increase the roi on your campaign by 20-50%!
Edit: I have attached the script. Edit your offer code in the popunder.js and upload it into your root file. Then read the instructions in the ReadMe file.

Awesome share ! When do you trigger the popunder, on click on lander or on enter ? any pointer or script you found useful ?
thx

Why not right ;D
Though the only thing I would be cautious of is people figuring out the pop is from your lander and causing your domain to get a bad rep on MyWoT, which could affect any FB campaigns you have going to landers on the same domain. Just a thought!

Trigger on a click. I have attached the script in my first post.

Unless you are the cloaking meister, you wouldnt want to run webcams on facebook anyway.

JS is 75k, maybe it can be trim down a bit, look pretty generic to handling ANY kind of DOM events to trigger the popunder... anyway, thank you for sharing, will test this for sure !

Have you done an A/B test to see if using this script reduces CTR?
I have used a script in the past that caused links to open a new browser window with the offer and also change the original page to a new page. so when the user gets done signing up for the offer, they come back to the original page and it says "THANKS! NOW YOU MIGHT WANT TO ALSO TRY THIS"
problem is that adding the js to open the 2 windows causes CTR to drop drastically. my guess is that it's because some browsers can't deal with the script.
curious if you've a/b'd this one to see.

Nope i didn't. I just added it the other day and saw my ROI go ballistic, so i figured ill let you all make some money on it as well.

Re: MyWoT, I don't mean when using a popunder on FB campaigns cloaked or not, I mean inadvertently poisoning the rating of a domain that you're using on non-cloaked FB campaigns elsewhere. I.e. shooting yourself in the foot. You wouldn't be cloaking a campaign that is safe but it might still be going to a lander on the same domain.

Zeno, on that same token, you also want to get a solid domain for an adult dating offer. You don't want something like happymarriage.net advertising an adult site. So chances are most people wouldn't be advertising on facebook with an adult domain (nothing will get approved).

I added this and it pops under for Firefox and IE, but pops over in Chrome.
Anyone have ideas how to fix that?
Thanks!

So how is this better than using a simple exit pop script? Does it fool the ad network into thinking that the pop is coming from the site and not your page? Or is there something else I'm not getting?
EDIT: Nevermind. I read it wrong.

Great idea! A simple yet effective way to maximize ROI. You've already paid for the traffic, why not try and get as much as you can out of it.

Okay, so it's supposed to pop when they close the browser...but it's not working for me. And I followed the directions to a tee and tested in IE, FF, and Chrome.
What could be wrong...?

Fucking genius!!!!!!!!!!!!!
+ Love this part, "Some squawking webcam whore in the background"
Even if this particular code doesn't meet your needs the concept could make or break campaigns, maybe you could build a list with the popunder traffic and send them offers with those squawking webcam whores idk

It pops as soon as a surfer clicks anything on your landing page, but it pops in the background below all other browser windows. Its not an exit pop up.

I remember an advertiser(Untrue I think) doing this a little while back, which was frustrating because they didn't give you commissions those signups. It didn't occur to me I should try it myself. Definitely going to give it a shot and will report back.

Youporn did a popunder a while back that worked on OSX. Might want to have a look there (and share your findings!).
PS Youporn popunder put the page in mobile history so when they hit back they land on it... Mobile exit pop!!!

Make it easy for me to help you.

Ok so anyway, you mentioned getting the code from the popunder, but the popunder itself isn't where you get the code from. You want the code from the initial lander that "triggers" that pop under. Also take a look at this thread:
http://stmforum.com/forum/showthread...ders-With-Bolt
It's awesome for making landers if you aren't a coder. But at the end of the day to get this all to work properly you are going to need someone to help you that is a programmer. Check out Odesk you can get it done there inexpensively.

Too bad it doesnt work in Firefox. LOL - I just tested it and in firefox it opens a new tab and sends the visitor to this new tab. Not very good if your main offer is on the first page and you just sent them to the exit page which obviously isnt the main profitable offer.

Nah bro that's just if they have a special option enabled to force new windows to open in a new tab. I'd guess 90% of internet users (at least) don't customize their browser settings like u do.
Cheers.

I've found some that kinda-sorta work off Github. When I test them on my machine they're either pop-overs or dont display at all.

Thanks for the tip but I'm looking for one that works as intended. With the traffic source I'm interested in, pop ups are strictly forbidden, pop under are a grey zone. Don't want to send pop ups and end up getting account banned.

Has anyone noticed that this actually decreases conversions from their main offer thereby balancing profit out and pretty much being pointless?

Try this WP plug-in I had developed in Jan 2013. Allows you to serve additional offers without pops or interrupting user experience.

Would it be hard to adapt this to a non-WP based site? I'm curious as to how this works without delving into the code too much.
Looks really interesting.

The original script from the first page of this thread, i have been using it for like a year now, was wondering is there anyway we can set a time in maybe seconds, so 15 seconds after the click on the LP the pop under will pop?
thanks

The pop-under idea isn't as good as it seems.
I did a few tests couple months ago and the extra revenue it brought was not worth the lower CR I got after.
So I suggest for everyone thinking of using , split testing it with and without first.

for me it did something rather weird, if my lander just the CTA is clickable and that triggers the pop under it doesnt hurt my CR to the offer and all is good, but when i have landers were the whole page is clickable and i have a pop under on that, the CR to the offer is way worse, compared to not having the pop under script running. so what i want to do is see if there is a way to time it, so once somebody clicks on my page (anywere) OR they click the cta the pop under will show up like x or xx seconds after that click.

Onclick='wait()' in ur cta link html then in header in script tags have
Function wait(){
SetTimeout('redirect()', 3000);
}
Function redirect(){
Window.html="link.com";
}
Will need to tweak it but thats off top of head on my mobile while lying in bed lol

The results were even worse on mobile. Maybe because most mobile browsers limit the amount of tabs that can be opened so many people didnt' make it to the actual offer.

Sorry for resurrecting this thread. And thank you very much for this script.
Is it possible to do this on load instead of on click?
I want to use it in conjunction with @zeno's code that fires a FB pixel and redirects:
<?php $queries= ltrim($_SERVER["QUERY_STRING"], "?") ?>
<html>
<head>
<title>Redirecting, please wait...</title>
<meta http-equiv="refresh" content="0.5;URL='http://mytackingurl.com/something?campaign=some_id&<?php echo $queries ?>'" />
<script>YOUR FB PIXEL CODE HERE</script>
</head>
<body>
<p>Some basic page content here to let user know they are being redirected, e.g. loader gif etc.</p>
</body>
</html>
But instead of the facebook pixel script I'd like to trigger a popunder.
The reason for this is I am currently doing direct linking adult content offers but would like to also trigger a popunder.
Thanks,
Richard
