Hello everyone,
I'm back after some time away. Day job and cash flow issues have kept me away from IM for a while. Unfortunately I don't see the situation improving any time soon, but I'll keep on going...
One of the things that has hit me the hardest in IM so far is inconsistent and "suspiciously converting offers".
I see this constantly with different networks and different offers and I feel that this has been one of the greatest obstacles I've had towards breaking even with my campaigns:
I'll pick an offer, set everything up and start sending traffic. And almost like clockwork, the first clicks I send start converting. As if to get me excited. Every time I think "this is it!" lol
And then everything just goes to shit. $0.80 epcs turn to $0.10. Green numbers turn to red and I'm back to square one.
And I'm not blaming a particular network or offer. This has happened with several different networks.
Of course, the logical step here is to rotate the offers and networks. But it never works that well and in the end I am left with yet another failed campaign. It's incredibly frustrating.
The only explanation I can come up with is simply that after the first 5 - 10 conversions I am just getting scrubbed to hell.
Can someone offer their insight on this? Maybe a network owner/aff manager?
how long did the offer run before the conversions starts to drop?
what volume?
Not long. Maybe a day. Not much volume either. That's the curious thing, this happens for like 100 clicks or so.
This is not something that has happened with a single particular offer. I've seen it happen many times with different offers.
It's as if I get initial conversions just to get excited about the offer and then the scrubbing button is turned on hehe
I have seen this happening also. For me it's also for low volume so I doubt nobody cares enough starts scrubbing, at least manually.
For example, the last time it happened to me was with C-Date, an adult dating offer.
I can't remember the exact numbers but I got like 5 conversions off the first 30 clicks or so.
If it had only happened once I would attribute it just to sheer luck or coincidence but it's happened before...
If i were you I would keep optimizing the campaign.
add more related keywords, look for more traffic sources.
I have keywords that converts for me the first 100 clicks and then nothing for the next 300. then some more after that.
I think you're on a great start if you're converting 5 or so in the first hundred clicks.
Note which days of the week this happens. In dating best days for me are usually weekends & Wednesdays. Worst converting days are Mondays & Fridays. For obvious reasons.....people too busy with work on those weekdays. But weekends have time to sign up to offers plus more privacy than work. Hence why evenings are best too.
Also get the day parting script on this POF forum. I use it all the time. On weekdays I used to start campaigns around 1pm until 11pm for the given region. In USA I go in the middle and use CST time .
However the first few hours of CVR is usually low. So since yesterday Im testing 3pm to midnight on weekdays. Weekends I'll start them earlier as people are not at work and likely to sign up for my offers.
Remember this data is not just data. But a reflection on real human behaviour. So don't ever assume each day and time is the same.
while reading your post, it sounded like a dating.
dating advertisers usually don't scrub at first to see your quality quickly. and once they see that your quality is below their expectation, they will start scrubbing your leads.
This has happened to me too with the dating offers. I had a talk with my AM and he said he will have talk to the advertiser to see what is going on. For the time being I have stopped sending my traffic to those offers.
