What is the best way to track ads on Facebook with a landing page?
At the end of my aff url, for each ad i have added a separate subid...
For Example
&aff_sub=ad1
&aff_sub=ad2
&aff_sub=ad3
etc
Doing it this way in 202 would get a bit long winded because I would need to add a seperate campaign in 202 for each ad plus it gets confusing when introducing a Landing Page into the equation.
Is there a subid related solution?
Sorry if I've missed this before
Thanks
Will
Looks like you don't know how to use Prosper202.
You don't need a separate campaign for each ad.
Lets say your campaign's Dating on Facebook. You need to use something called "Tokens" and [[subid]],[[c1]],[[c2]], [[c3]]
Think of them as placeholders for what you want to track. For Facebook it'd probably be your targeting information.
c1=country
c2=age range
c3=gender
at the end there a &202kw= where you can add in your ad1,ad2
So a rough example would be
yourdatingreview.com/index.php?t202id=182&c1=country&c2=agerange&c3=gen der&t202kw=image
this would be your "template"
when you submit ads you have to fill in the tokens. Your final ad to facebook might look like this
http://www.yourdatingreview.com/inde...t202id=182&c1=USA&c2=18-23&c3=male&t202kw=ad1
So why go all this? It only takes an additional 5-10 mins to setup tracking properly. It goes really fast once you've setup a few campaigns with it.
But the benefits are
- you see see what time of the day converts best, so you can just run your campaign during those times (day parting)
- analyze and rotate landing pages / offers
- break down how each token does. How do the countries, age range, and gender compare? If you track this way you can see 18-24 female convert horrible, but 40-55 females convert like fire. What should you concentrate on?
- etc. etc. etc.
If you don't know how to track, you're at a huge disadvantage because your competitors are.
Thanks for the reply dr_ngo
I've used 202 with success using pof and c1, c2, c3 etc.
Up until now, I've been direct linking with fb and for some reason had a memory block.
Your explanation was cool and has definately helped. I suppose the unique value I want to pass would be the ad1, ad2 etc and I can add this uniquely onto t202kw= .
Thanks
Will
What Dr Ngo said,
But my only tip would be to pseudo encrypt your c1-4 values since it's super easy for someone to know who you are targeting.
eg
Instead of 18-23 do something like 2318. It looks less like an age range but you still know what it is.
