Where do I start? (6)
Im new to the IM world and I am not that computer savy, so in a sense I feel like Im even more behind then the rest. A friend of mine who has been profitable using PPC recommended me to join the STM forum. I have a number of questions on where to begin and how to start? I'm thinking of starting out on POF for the next 30 days to see where it takes me. So here are my questions:
- As a newbie, what is the best way to get the most out of this forum? So far, I've only read the beginners guide and have been viewing posts in the newbie section.
- Is there any tools I should be using for POF?
- Do international dating campaigns work well on POF or is it mainly for local traffic only?
- Would it be wise to get a domain name and hosting address right away or can that wait until later?
start by reading the 40 day guide - especially the first half.
if you want to do PoF (its a great place to start) - check some of the posts in the PoF section (the 40 day guide does not include a PoF section).
then post a follow along and get feedback.
Re tools for pof - initially you shouldnt have to, and i would avoid the automated uploaders initially. your best to learn doing things by hand. You might wanna use the pof spy tool to get an idea of whats running on the site, but dont let it influence you too much.

Thanks tijn for the advice. I do have another question though, in the 40 day guide it says to create at least 3 campaigns daily, does that mean 3 different offers or 3 different adds?
Tijn is the nailer of advice for you guys, learn the basics get in the trenches, doing work will teach you 100x faster then reading all day

You start with offers if you are testing out the offers, especially new one.
You can also start off with ads, if you already know that the offers will convert.
Thanks again everybody for the tips! I've started my first dating offer on POF running about 20 adds per day on 1 campain targeting men. I was thinking of starting a 2nd campaign on the same offer targeting women as well, and possibly starting another offer within the next few days. I have a pretty small budget (about 15-20$/day). Is this a wise thing to do or am I spreading myself too thin?
Also, I was reading on the POF blog, to turn off android and iphone traffic unless im running a mobile offer. Do ipad or tablets fall under mobile traffic as well?
