I remember the good days when I would put an adcopy together, find a good combo between adcopy and offer and I would see a stable .30+ epc on other offers too.
I used to think that a .20 epc is actually low but the past several months a .20 epc is a goldmine for me
It feels like I fell into an Internet Marketing recession. Everything I try that used to work does not work anymore, the offers I used to make money with lose money and FB is hella trippy.
This "recession" is teaching me how to handle stress and also how to get that high ctr that most people dream of seeing. Because of this "recession" my standard are so high up there; my standard for a ctr is .2 or higher... sometimes .3 or higher. And I am also learning different techniques to boost traffic quality, besides the typical "dont use 'free' in your adcopy" and "target a higher age".
Even though i've been losing money the past several months, I have learned several things that will help me in the long run. Anyone who is losing money should stick to it. You can learn a thing or two that will help you succeed in the future.
What are your standards for CTR ?
Recession is a good term for it. Let's just hope there's a boom at the end of it!
I've said it a million times but if you can master your CTRs, there's serious money to be made in porting the formula to international markets. That's my main line of attack on Facebook these days. I try to immerse myself in local cultures as much as possible. Use local slang. Use imagery that appeals and resonates with the local audience...
FatSlags, lol.
Like Finch said, go international and force yourself to think outside the box as much as possible. You don't need to find a new niche, you just need to introduce a niche to a new country. They're popping up every day. In the last 90 days I've personally added Poland, Russia, and new Asian markets to my networks inventory. The CPA's are low, but the ROI's are huge.
never trust standards. There is nothing standard in this industry. You may have profitable campaigns that have 0.03CTR and be in the red with 0.5 CTR. As Finch and Ryan said, don't be afraid to go international. A lot more space and a lot of untapped potential. If you want high EPCs, they are there (I've got $0.8 on one campaign, $1.1 on some demographics), but it's not that important (i have a campaign in Argentina that's doing $0.04 EPC and it's still 150% ROI).
