CPVLab IFRAME OR IMAGE - Which One

HI Guys

I have tried and tried I just cant get the conversion pixel via image placement to fire or show on Networks with Cake platform which include C2M, Above All & others. Everything is tracking fine and clicks are shown and track too. I am just not seeing the conversions and the network managers can't figure it out either.

Can anyone please help me out here? How do you guys setup your CPVlab campaigns so that conversion tracking is no problem.

IFRAME
POST BACK
IMAGE

which one is best? Also can you just walk me thru and tell me how you setup the campaign and place pixel via one of the above methods on your network side. I would greatly appreciate it.

I don't use CPVlab so can't help there, but I would use a postback (in almost all cases). I am using a postback pixel fine on a network running Cake. All I do is insert the pixel URL under postback URL for that specific offer, add whatever subid to it, no delay. An advantage here is that, being a postback, you can manually load the URL yourself to trigger a conversion which can unequivocally tell you whether or not your pixel is working correctly - thus if no conversions are popping up it is likely network side.

When you test for conversions, do you basically purchase the item so that the conversion pixel fires

No I just open up Google Chrome -> incognito mode and load the postback URL in the address bar with whatever subids/values in it that I need to cause X advert to register a conversion.

the post back url you use is for the advertisers general lander or credit card page?

Huh? Postback for conversion of course, wherever that may be, depends on the offer. What point would there be in tracking when someone hits the lander? That's what 'clicks' generally correspond to in your network stats.

Sorry, didn't understand what you just said. Does it make a different what subid you use per network ? when you place the offer sales page url as postback and append a subid on the network side, the network usually assigns example, #2# or #3#. do you place the postback url in cpvlab as https://www.offer.com/1d2/checkout.aspxs#2# or leave out the #?

I use the iframe pixel for cpvlab because then you can add 3rd party pixels like POF etc. But image should work too. In cake marketing aff networks you click the Testing & Tracking tab of the offer and paste the iframe code from cpvlab into the "Pixel HTML:" textbox then click save.

I think you're confusing what a postback URL is - it's just a type of pixel, where one server (on the offer/network side) sends a message to your server, i.e. the one with your tracking platform on it. So in CPVlab you will have a postback pixel that's something like http://tracking.com/something.php?subid=something. If something loads that URL with subid=[id of an advert] then CPVlab registers a conversion. So on your network side you would set the postback as http://tracking.com/something.php?subid={subid3} or in whatever format required with the appropriate subid inserted.

No idea, I don't use CPVlab. It must be in the help/manual somewhere. Or try http://thelabhelpdesk.com/

I'm currently using postbacks to CPVLab and that is working fine. I struggled for a long time getting 3rd party pixels to fire, until I gave up and set those manually outside the program. Postback will typically give a more accurate tally, but sometimes takes some extra effort to set-up. If you experience problems with pixels firing, it couldn't hurt to put some pressure on CPVLab to make the recommended way to set it up clearer.

Can someone please explain the proper steps in creating a postback url in Cpvlab and then transferring it to the Network side. I think it would be a great help for me and many others.
