Possibly a Helpful Tip

Today after getting dozens and dozens of ads disapproved I figured out the hard way that FB does not allow the word "rich" anywhere in your adcopy.

My title had the word "rich" in it and I was instantly getting disapproved. Even when I submitted with a fanpage I still got disapproved. I started playing around with the words and removed the word "rich" from the title and the body text. (my link had that word in there though)

And STILL disapproved in less than 30 seconds. I didn't think that the system would check the link too but I got rid of the word "rich" in my link and I was surprised to see my ads approved the same day.

I'm guessing that the system flags it instantly thinking its a biz opp or something. You guys probably already knew that but just for those who didn't, I thought I should throw it out there

this is great.

i knew they filter for words in the ads but never realised they look for the URL as well.

it be cool if you could keep your post updated with other banned words that people know off.

Ya think FB will tag the adcopy that was used by a previous banned account?

They never have for me but it's always possible I suppose, i always try alter it ever so slightly anyway as I wouldn't want account being linked.

Alright guys so I just got an adcopy approved with "rich" in the title...

Possibilities:

FB is changing the system around so it's not automatically flagging it

or

maybe the system checks only the link and/or flags it if the link and the adcopy both have "rich" in there.

What do you think?

It most likely tagged a word in that specific campaign. If you dupe the camp & then re-sub you should get away with it . There seems to be different disapprovals at Facebook, your regular one or one where they tag the URL, image or adcopy so if you resubmit to the same camp it is auto disapproved. Make a habit of duping your camps and edit them that way to avoid this.

Just checked, there's thousands of ads with the word "rich" in them - even going to offers with the word in it. You might just have been on an unlucky streak. Agreed with what others have said though about ad copies, images and URLs being tagged. Always be sure to tweak a few words in the ad copy, change a few pixels in the images, or append a random variable into the tracking URL (ex. "&hello=1") so that it goes back into the human-review queue if you're getting disapprovals. The disapproval reason is always a good clue into what specifically needs to change for it to be sent back for a human review (ex. "image violates guidelines" = change a few image pixels).

If you have any lingering suspicions, I'm here if you want me to check the database to confirm/deny it. Otherwise you can always just register for a "Demo" account on my tool and see if there's any results to support your theory. The results being censored shouldn't matter if you just need confirmation.
