Warning: Airpush pause and budget don't seem to work

For the last two days my campaign has gone over its daily budget and remained "active" in my dashboard. We're talking $50/day on a $25/day limit, so it didn't really bother me at first.

However yesterday I paused it in the evening, and as of 2 PM today I'm still getting a considerable amount of clicks and being charged for them.

I imagine the bigger your budget and click volume the more it's going to affect you, so just be forewarned.

I'll update this when the clicks finally stop coming.

If you get a high CTR, that isn't unreasonable.

My worst experience was over $1,000 spend on a $100 budget. I paused once I saw it hit $200, but it just kept going. In that case, they just screwed up. They call it Ad OD - Over Deliver.

^^ Yep.

It's hard for airpush to stop delivery spot on. It's even harder if you have high CTR creatives. They deliver pushes based on the average CTR, so if you are hitting over that then you are doing well .

Just got an email back about this

"For the Paused campaigns when they are push campaigns, it usually takes anywhere from 24 to 48 hours for all the clicks to come in. The nature of our system is that when we push out the notifications, it is up to the user to take time to engage the ad at their own convenience. It is one of reasons why our clients enjoy a higher than average CTR rate. Therefore, you are responsible for clicks that come in within this time frame. However, if you notice that they are going over your original campaign budget then let me know and I will issue a credit."
Going forward I'm going to setup P202 traffic source accounts and generate different links for each ad type they offer, so I can better monitor what is driving my clicks.

Yeah you'll get this with airpush, usually i'll start my daily budget @ half or so of what I want to spend.

but the real question is... is airpush workign for you guys? i just setup a campaign there and im planning to spend around $50 on 3 or 4 campaigns each direct linking to test what happens across maybe 5-10 ads each. what do you guys think about this? (i'm making a follow along in the next day or two after i gather enough data)

I think you'll need to post your follow along for us to have any idea how to answer that question. People are definitely making the traffic source work.

You can ask them to refund you. Tell them your creatives didn't convert to sales. They have refunded me. Reloaded my Airpush funds.

ya they will def. refund you , its actually in there terms, they wont refund the full overage but they calculate it out and ask that you set your budgets with like 10-20% overage in mind. setup a ticket and see what they say .

Happened to me today.. spent 4x daily budget on icon installs until my account balance depleted.
eh.. not depleted.. $ -23

And it happened pretty damn fast too!

How do you find Icon installs? I haven't tried them. I guess they would work well on games and apps.

Yhey CAN work well with those kinda offers. Keep in mind that clicks and conversions can come in weeks after your campaign has ended

One thing to note about carrier bound campaign for airpush: most devices are on wifi when sent the push notifications, therefore for instance a device that is defined as AT&T on airpush but actually is on wifi will not be able to convert, depending on offer restrictions. From what I see, for carrier restricted offers, Airpush is hard to gonna work. That especially goes for the 1 click conversion flow offers.
